Why are people not using fully automatic machine guns to do mass killings?
Can't legally get a full-auto gun without a NFA tax stamp. The approval takes a long time for approval. I'm not sure how long the approval wait time is but I think it's longer than the wait time for suppressors and SBRs. Being caught with one without a tax stamp is a felony.

There is no law that will stop this because people who do this do not obey the law.

I agree and disagree.

I disagree because both of these teenagers were able to obtain these weapons easily with no resistance even after one threatened to commit mass murder almost a year before.

So technically they do obey the law, the problem is the current laws in place are either too lax or not enforced.

So while laws may not prevent everyone of these they would prevent a significant amount of them and, at minimum, would make carrying these acts out more difficult which is also a deterrent.

It doesn t matter. There will never be a day that guns arent in America. So there will never be a law that will stop these shootings.

You didn't answer the question.

People don't use those weapons because they are illegal, they are hard to get, and no one is going to risk going to jail to sell one to you.

Bruh the only thing stopping folks who own guns from doing a public shooting is decency and morality.

Yet there still are mass shootings.

Also, you better not get caught with one that wasn't registered before 1986 :itsawrap:

If you banned the sale, manufacture, and import of any gun with more than an 8 round capacity, you could do something.

Make it so selling an AR-15 to anyone gets you a MANDATORY 30 years in prison. Make it so OWNING an AR-15 gets you a MANDATORY 50 years in prison and set a $100k reward to any tip that leads to the arrest of anyone breaking the first two laws. In fact instead of just AR's make it illegal to own any weapon with a clip larger than 8 rounds.

Correct. They don’t.

Bans however, thought not perfect, work excellently.
It's gonna be interesting to see how Congress tries to approach a ban considering they consider an assault weapon to be any semi-automatic firearm that accepts detachable magazines. That's well over 80% of pistols and rifles sold now. Even some shotguns fall into that category. They'll have to get very granular with that being the case and say why 1 firearm is more dangerous than the other.

It’s Congress. These clowns can get granular over anything. See the pandemic. These folks couldn’t wait to filter who got checks and who didn’t. They know how to do it and they can if they want to.

They just won’t for whatever reason.

They’d prefer folks die for nothing and then give speeches and politicize everything so sheep can go vote one way or another.

But make no mistake. They can do it.

You'll be banning just damn near every pistol that's not a revolver or 1911 and almost every rifle as well at that point.

And as far as AR15s are concerned, are you saying to ban all of them regardless of the caliber? If it's not about the caliber at that point then what makes an AR15 any more dangerous than other rifles that shoot the same caliber as an AR?

You'll still be able to buy a pistol "to protect your family".

And there lies the problem. The government will spend money when it has no recourse in order to keep it functional but what about spending money to help improve the impoverished areas where crime runs amok? They can't appease their constituents and actually keep their promises to improve the quality of life in the lower economic areas at the same time can they? We already know the answer to that rhetorical question

Steve Kerr > Joe Biden

What he said sounded great, but he can talk that stuff without any political ramifications. Glad Steve said it though...I'm expecting Pop to give a statement as well, i actually wish Pop would run for some kind of political office in TX...im sure he could prob be elected Mayor there if he wanted

The AR is not the problem. I own an AR and it has never even been pointed at another human being.

France has nuclear weapons and have never used them against anyone. So Iran and Afghanistan should be able to get them too since the nukes aren't the problem

After Sandy Hook I knew shit wasn't gonna change. They let those little white kids die and played politics. Most folks in this country don't really give a shit until things happen to them.

No, they get paid off, I believe the settlement from Sandy Hook was one of the largest in US history...

CNN article

(CNN)The families of five children and four adults killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting have reached a $73 million settlement with the now-bankrupt gun manufacturer Remington and its four insurers, the plaintiffs' attorneys said Tuesday.
