I bet this is more engaging come November than people give it credit for now.

I predict there will be more pages in next year's NBA thread by December 15th than were in this year's by a good margin and the league will go into the Christmas break with higher engagement and TV ratings.
Give it a couple years when most of these teams all have 2-3 guys taking up 70% of the cap space and the rest of the roster on minimum deals. That’s going to be a competitive tournament

@therealjondoe -- I was amazed at one name on this list:

I honestly wouldn't question it if not for your boy being on there but now I put an asterisk on every name after CP3 because that's gotta be partially due to stat inflation, which I think distorts a lot of modern stat comparisons to previous decades. (It was ridiculous how many times last year somebody's statline was the first since Wilt to do something!) But it's still a credit to Herro.

Stat inflation?

Three months after reports surfaced that Florida Democrats were eyeing NBA legends Wade, 41, and Grant Hill, 50, as possible candidates for a U.S. Senate run in 2024, the former Miami Heat point guard has shared his reaction to the news.
When asked by The New York Times about the reports — which circled in May after an NBC News story reported that both of the former basketball players had been named by Democratic donor groups — Wade said he “heard” about the discussions.
He then confirmed that he has been approached about running for political office — but laughed off any questioning about whether he would actually consider launching a campaign.
“I mean, it’s just conversation,” Wade said. “‘Hey, you would be good for,’ ‘Hey, we can see you in,’ ‘We would love to have you in.’”
He continued, “It’s things that I’m passionate about that I will speak out on and speak up for. And so I don’t play the politician games. I don’t know a lot about it.”

Fuck Kanter but fuck Musk more.

Community notes is a terrible idea. The context there— how he performed in the NBA— has nothing to do with his point!

I personally think his point is stupid but it’s just an egregious personal attack— it is meant as a put-down but it actually reinforces his point. If he was great against men, of course he would be great against women. If he was a scrub, performing as he claims he would actually would make the hypothetical stronger!
