No not really trust me I went to a high school in Miami (Miami Northwestern) that was surrounded by four projects. And It still wasn’t that bad outside.
... I guess it's all about what era you went to high school in.... I grew up in Chicago and went to one of the local high schools my high school wasn't bad at all the neighborhood was not bad at all but what I will take into the account I went to school in the early 80s and this was the pre crack epidemic it was just getting started
