It’s interesting how Paramount refused Byron Allen’s offer and took a lower bid.

We all no why…
BET is not worth $1.2 billion. If I had my choice, it wouldn’t be more than $800 million.

Comcast should buy BET and offer it to every loser that had their information stolen.

All 10 TOS And TNG Star Trek Movies Exit Paramount+ For Max And HBO (Again)

BY: TREKMOVIE.COM STAFF
January 2, 2024

Paramount+ has been the sole streaming home for all 13 Star Trek feature films, however, that changed at the beginning of 2024. If you want to stream one of the TOS or TNG movies, you will have to do it on Max in the USA.

Trek to the Max

As of January 1, 2024, the six TOS-era Star Trek movies (The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, The Final Frontier, and The Undiscovered Country) and four TNG-era movies (Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis) are streaming exclusively on Max in the USA. This includes the new 4K Directors Edition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The Star Trek feature films have also started airing on HBO. This is a bit of history repeating itself. In November 2022 the same 10 movies jumped from Paramount+ for HBO Max (now just Max), returning in July of 2023. The three Kelvin-era movies (Star Trek 2009, Into Darkness, and Beyond) are still available on Paramount+.

It is unknown how long HBO and Max will have the exclusive license for the 10 Star Trek feature films this time. Paramount Global and Warner Bros. Discovery are in talks about a potential merger, however, the licensing deal for the Star Trek films is not related to those talks.

Licensing Star Trek

All 13 Star Trek feature films were first consolidated on Paramount+ exclusively in November 2021 and by July 2022 all 5 “classic” Star Trek TV shows were exclusive to Paramount+ as well in the USA. During the height of the streaming wars, most media companies were keeping their own content on their own streaming services. However, more recently there has been an industry trend back to licensing. In fact, Warner Bros. Discovery has been licensing much of its content to other streaming services, including Netflix.

This move back to more licensing has already been seen with Star Trek: Prodigy moving from Paramount+ to Netflix. We may see more exclusive and non-exclusive licensing deals for Star Trek TV shows. Perhaps Paramount would even consider producing a new original Star Trek show for another service. There is some precedent for this as Netflix paid much of the cost for the early seasons of Discovery for the international streaming rights. Amazon did the same for Picard and Lower Decks.

One thing is clear, Paramount+ will also have to update their latest “Home of Star Trek” promo (released during Comic-Con 2023) as it includes clips from the feature films.

‘Star Trek’ Origin Story Movie Set From ‘Andor’ Director, ‘Star Trek 4’ Still in the Works as ‘Final Chapter’ of Main Series

By Michaela Zee
January 10, 2024

A new “Star Trek” film is in the works at Paramount with “Andor’s” Toby Haynes on board to direct and Seth Grahame-Smith penning the script, Variety has confirmed.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, the upcoming feature will be an origin story that is set decades before 2009’s “Star Trek,” as well as an expansion of the “Star Trek” universe. J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot is producing.

Meanwhile, the fourth installment of the rebooted “Star Trek” film series remains in development, with the studio describing it as the “final chapter.” In the third film, 2016’s “Star Trek Beyond,” the crew of the USS Enterprise crash-lands on a mysterious world after being attacked by the lizard-like dictator Krall (Idris Elba).

A fourth “Star Trek” movie starring Chris Pine was first announced in July of 2016, with Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho and Simon Pegg expected to return. Chris Hemsworth, who appeared in the 2009 original, was set to return to the space saga as George Kirk, the father of Captain James T. Kirk (Pine). According to Paramount at the time, “Star Trek 4” would see Pine’s Captain Kirk cross paths with his father, who was “a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born.”

During a Paramount Global investors day presentation in February of 2022, Abrams announced that a new “Star Trek” movie would begin shooting by the end of that year with the Pine-led crew. Pine and his co-stars reportedly had no idea Paramount was moving forward with another “Star Trek” film, which was eventually removed from the studio’s film slate in September of that year.

Haynes recently directed six episodes of the “Star Wars” series “Andor,” starring Diego Luna as the titular role. He also helmed the “Star Trek”-inspired episode of “Black Mirror,” titled “USS Callister.” Haynes is repped by WME and attorney Peter Nelson.

Grahame-Smith is best known as the author of the best-selling novels “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” and “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” He also wrote and produced 2017’s “The Lego Batman Movie.” Grahame-Smith is repped by WME and attorneys PJ Shapiro and Wendy Kirk.

Deadline was first to report the “Star Trek” news.

Paramount Plus streaming is one of the worst services out there due to being so glitchy.

It takes forever to start up when you go to watch a program.

It's like starting up a '72 Buick. You have to pump the gas a few times to start it. Then let it warm up for 15 minutes before you drive it!

That's Paramount Plus!!!
Hbomax / max was the same way at first but improved over time.

I thought it was just me.

I recently got a new cable box thru my cable provider that is WiFi and doesn’t hook into the wall jack.

Paramount+ acts perfectly now thru the app on my cable box.

I never had issues using it on my phone when on the road.

My son’s XBox it was acting funny but now it works fine for some odd reason.

Yep, it's glitchy as hell. My son was watching the Super Bowl on Paramount+ and it just crashed towards the end of the game.
Good thing I get it for free through Amex/Walmart + because I would never pay for it.
