Ark: The Animated Series
Season One Part One
Debuted on March 21, 2024
7/10
I had heard about this series back in 2021 or 2022. I didn’t think anything about it or follow up on its status.
Yesterday morning when I started the season 2 finale of “Halo” a preview popped up on Paramount+ advertising this series before the episode started.
It looked interesting so after watching Halo I Googled it to get some information.
It turns out Paramount+ just surprisingly debuted the series on March 21st with no formal announcement. I’m subscribed to their YouTube channel and I never got a notification on it. It looks to have caught everyone off guard.
The series is based off a popular video game. I have never played the game and have no idea what it is about. And I have no clue if it accurately follows the game. So I basically went into this series blind.
I started watching it last night and finished it this morning.
It’s not a children’s series and it’s graphic with violence/language.
Animation style is the same as Netflix’s “Castlevania” series.
The series has a large cast of well known actors doing voices which is surprisingly for an animated series like this. You only see a line up like what this series has for theatrical releases.
Paramount+ debuted 6 episodes for Part One on March 21. The first episode runs just over 40 minutes and the rest run around 25 minutes. The series has only debuted in the U.S. There will be a global release on April 19, 2024. The episodes are Part One and there is a Part Two with 7 episodes. There is no information on when Part Two will debut but theories are they will debut for the global release.
Paramount+ has already renewed it for a season 2, it’s why I watched it.
For the Militants, the series has a multi-cultural cast, the lead character is an Australian Aboriginal.
For the Gay Agenda trackers, there is Lesbian action. Just PDA is shown.
For the InCells, the lead character is a female doing things you will find disturbing and offensive. There is also a number of females shown in strong roles.
With what Paramount+ did with how they released it, this might be copied by other streaming services in the future. By releasing it this way, it keeps the “Agenda” cats from flooding the internet with pre-negative reviews the way they are currently doing with the upcoming “Acolyte” series on Disney+. Going forward you will definitely need to keep a close eye out on these streaming services if you are subscribed to them.
The story kicks in right from the start in the opening scene and continues a steady pace until the finale.
Action kicks in around the end of episode 4, it should go full action when Part 2 comes out.
Backstory on some of the characters is done thruout the episodes as they play out in backstory flashbacks.
Overall, it’s an interesting series. If you hate women, don’t bother watching it.
Looking forward to Part 2.
