POWER Book all seasons discussion thread (Power Book II: Ghost canceled )
i did, i restarted my subscription friday. It seemed liked they shoehorned alot for one episode. Hopefully this gets flushed out through out the rest of the episodes.
I really thought after the last season of Power that the writers would take some time to regroup and come back focused and on-point, but clearly that shit ain't happen. Courtney is back on her bullshit. How does the showrunner keep forgetting details of the show?
1) AFAIK, Tariq was a high school junior. When Ghost dropped the bomb that he wouldn't get his inheritance until he finished college, Tasha made a deal with Stern so that Tariq would take the GED and Stern would get him into college, in exchange for Truth (bad deal considering the family is cash poor right now, but like Ghost said Tasha ain't as smart as she thinks she is). So here's the problem, why the hell are a bunch of Tariq's high school friends now in college? Episode 1 takes place 2 weeks after the Power finale, did all these kids take the GED to graduate early?
2) The court plea deals, what the fucking fuck?? Did no one consult an actual attorney over these? I don't care how good your attorney is, there's no way they knock a first degree murder charge down to 4 years probation. That's pure fucking fiction. And the fact that the NYPD continued to dig up exculpatory forensic evidence after they already had a suspect charged, also fiction. Just ask the Central Park 5.

Now since this is a porn board, here's the real question. How much nudity can we expect to see this season? I remember during Power's original run, Lala gave an interview where she said that everyone cast on the show signs a nudity waiver. That's not saying that you will be nude, but they reserve the right to request nudity. That's how we got "#LaLasTaTas". So this new season set between women's prison and college dorms what can we expect to see. The actor who plays Tariq is over 18 so there's no issue with exploiting a minor, so might we see Tariq knocking down some co-eds this season? He got kinda close last year with that girl Effie at Choate and based on the previews they're setting him up for a love triangle situation. I'm looking forward to seeing him hookup with both those girls, plus anything we get from the college counselor. Hell, we might even see Mary get active this year, but who knows.
Yeah this shit right here........I thought maybe we were going to get a new show but its the same shit as Power. Its literally the same show. 
And maybe that's on me but I thought they'd start over since they ran Power into the ground.

Based on that first episode...I don't expect to see shit. This seems like a PG-13 version of Power to me. I don't know if they going for a younger audience or what but that's the tone I got from the first episode.

Sheesh......man they wilding......these characters were not compelling enough to have a whole series about them.
I do wish they'd do this with more shows that are finished.........let them have a spinoff to continue the storyline.....this just ain't the show I expected to do it.

It does and thats' when it hit me this shit is just continuing the same awful storyline except without Tommy and Ghost who were the best characters on the show.
