I thought I was trippin and they added a new character with a different backstory. I was like damn he got two of his brothers locked up.
This latest episode had one of the best classroom discussion scenes out of the entire Power Book 2 series. The whole exercise with the family and environment advantages & disadvantages demonstrates just how much Ghost did to put Tariq within striking distance of his well-to-do white peers in terms of succeeding in the legit world. And of course Tariq's bratty ass just takes it all for granted.
And since this show is nothing if not a predictable soap opera, I'm going to make a prediction now. Since they kept mentioning Tariq's trust fund this episode, I'm going to guess that the Weston fund that Braydon's uncle manages is just a Ponzi scheme and now that Tariq has transferred his trust fund over for Uncle Weston to manage, he's going to get cleaned out. So with no trust fund, Tariq can never leave the game and go legit. And since Brayden orchestrated Tariq working for his Uncle, I'm predicting they will have a falling out. Brayden won't get killed off, because the actors who play Tariq & Brayden are close in real life, but the two characters are going to beef like Tommy & Ghost in season 5.
