Star Wars: The Mandalorian (official Series Discussion Thread) Update (Season 3 drops Feb 2023)

I started watching this series late last month. 7 episodes have been released at this time and I recently finished episode 3.

The series gives in-depth backstory on the origin and how production took place for the series. Lots of good insight.

Episode 1 deals with directing and there is a roundtable of all the directors who did Season 1. There is a brother named ‎Rick Famuyiwa who directed episodes 2 and 6. Bryce Dallas Howard directed episode 4 and she is a novice and they gave her the most difficult episode to direct. They also show that George Lucas was invited on set for the episodes to give his insight.

Episode 2 deals with the legacy of Star Wars related to the Mandalorian. We see backstage scenes from movie episodes 4 to 6. Info is given on the creation of Boba Fett and they revealed that the majority of the movie episodes 1 to 3 had a large majority of minature props done for it to disprove the popular narrative the movies were mainly done in CGI. They showed some of the model sets.

Episode 3 deals with the cast. Gina Carano is on here and she looks good. She also looks like she is filling up. Not sure if she had or is pregnant right now but she was looking thick in the neck and her fingers looked like vienna sausages. Bryce Dallas Howard is filling up and is more fuller than when we last saw her on screen.

Dave Filoni...this guy is the future of Star Wars. His resume for SW is animation with "Clone Wars" and "Rebels". The Mandalorian is his first live-action directing and he talks about how nervous he was. I think they are using the series to prep him up for full movies in the future. Dave directed episodes 1 and 5.

And for all you Kathleen Kennedy haters, she was hired on with Lucasfilm before "Empire Strikes Back". She has been on George Lucas side for Episodes 5 and 6 thru Episodes 1 to 3 along with Clone Wars. She was there with George on the Indiana Jones movies along with other projects. So if you hate her for Episodes 7 to 9, you gotta hate her for everything else George did. She also worked with Steven Spielberg in the 80s.

Also, there are two stuntmen for the Mandalorian. One is black the other white. The brother does all the jumping around and throwing himself because he has a martial arts background.

There is suppose to be 8 episodes total and the final one should release this Friday.

Baby Yoda Distracted You From Mark Hamill’s Secret The Mandalorian Cameo

And we thought not being able to see Pedro Pescal’s face under a helmet was a cruel joke. Deadline reports that Mark Hamill had a very stealth cameo during The Mandalorian’s first season, which was confirmed by showrunner Jon Favreau during the final episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian (a.k.a. the bonus docuseries that told us all about the cute evolution of Baby Yoda). Hamill’s moment comes during the season’s fifth episode, where he voices a droid bartender at the cantina on Tatooine. His droid’s name is EV-9D9 — not to be confused with X Æ A-12, BB-8, or, god forbid, the Porgs — who was “previously seen torturing other droids in Return of the Jedi.” Take a look at him doing his best Sam Malone impression, towel and all, below.

'The Mandalorian' casts Temuera Morrison to return as Boba Fett

By James Hibberd
May 08, 2020 at 05:00 PM EDT

https://ew.com/tv/the-mandalorian-t...an has cast Temuera,in the Star Wars prequels.

Boba Fett will return.

The Mandalorian has cast Temuera Morrison in the iconic Star Wars role for season 2 of the Disney+ series.

As reported by THR, Morrison will return to the franchise to play the bounty hunter. Morrison played Boba's father Jango Fett, who was the basis for clone troopers, including his son, in the Star Wars prequels. Disney+ did not confirm or comment.

The return of the character was teased in the first season of the Star Wars drama series, when a pair of black boots with a familiar-sounding jangle entered the frame at the end of one episode.

Boba Fett seemingly died in 1983's Return of the Jedi when he fell into a Sarlacc Pit on Tatooine. As The Mandalorian takes place after the events in the original trilogy, The Mandalorian will presumably have to explain how he's still alive. Previously, The Mandalorian director Dave Filoni similarly resurrected Darth Maul, who was seemingly killed in The Phantom Menace, for his animated series The Clone Wars.

Also reportedly cast in season 2 – but like this casting report not yet verified by Disney – are Michael Biehn and Rosario Dawson (as fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano). Directors for the upcoming season – who are confirmed – include Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel) and Peyton Reed (Ant-Man and the Wasp). Filoni and Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau are also expected to direct episodes.

Rumors are going around that Disney might debut Season 2 trailer tonight during the Lakers/Portland game.

There were last minute rumors that it was to debut this past Thursday night, but nothing happened.

If it does not debut tonight, it might not happen until Labor Day weekend.

Season 2 right now is scheduled for a October debut.

They might be trying to cut into all the excitement WB/DC has been having with DC's Fandome event being very positive.

Hmm. I dont think no one looked at it as a mystery like that.

However, I do not want them to reveal it cause they might fuck it up.

Series could have been 5 episodes. It kinda dragged.

They had better not reveal the origin of Yoda. That was one of the great mysteries
of the whole thing...But I think these bitches do not care, and will do it, the same
way they turned Luke Skywalker into a bitter whino

You do know, it takes place 5 years after Return of the Jedi..So,it's impossible for it to be Yoda. Now,them showing more of Yoda's species I would like that to happen.

No official word, but start keeping a eye out on Monday Night Football and going forward for the trailer debut.

It’s possible Disney might debut it without a formal announcement like they have done in the past with other movies and series.
