Honestly, Spence looked just as drained before the Ugas fight but based off that Ugas performance, I said maybe he is ok...it was a combination of Crawford's greatness and being weight drained that made the ass whipping look so bad...at 154 Crawford still wins but it wont look as bad provided that beating didnt take something out of Spence mentally and physically...Crawford will be stronger at 154 too though so that is a cause for concern

Spence need to sit down with his family and his team and figure some shit out

Gonna be a rough year for Derrick James because Mell and Joshua should be losing their fights too...also, how is it going to work if Spence trying to rematch in December and they talking about Wilder and Joshua in December?...Spence clearly needs undivided attention if he talking about a rematch
Dude was outclassed, look at his jab he leans in with his foot first, his fundamentals are bad, he's strong and durable and applies high pressure but he's not that good of a boxer

Look at his older fights.

Damn man, ESPN keep that mfkr SAS on the clock!! It was damn near 1am and he still had to get an interview with the champ?!

That's a cold ass pimp in Bristol, even in July
S.A.S needs to get some rest because he's older now or he'll be working himself into an early grave!

Crawford deserves all the credit for last night’s performance. He came in ready and focused. He put in that work last night. Crawford always has his bag ready. Testament to his greatness.

Spence was not in it last night. No excuses but NONE of you seen this to be a dominating fight like this from Crawford. Bud has had lesser opponents give him more trouble than Spence did last night.

That’s why people are dumbfounded by just how out of place Crawford made ESJ look last night. No one saw that playing out that way. Even if you were rooting for Crawford, no one thought it would be that easy of a victory.

Spence is no punk in the ring. That’s why this fight was so hyped. He’s still one of the best. He needed this loss. You can tell. Either it will wake him up or this is the beginning of the end.

Honestly I had my reservations about this fight because I wondered what ESJ would be in the ring last night. He definitely looked out of place, but you gotta be ready to fight. Once you in the ring, you gotta be ready to fight. Can be no doubt.

Bud had no doubt in himself. He knew he was going to war and believed in his arsenal. He was locked in, Spence was not.

A lot of people are now saying Derrick James isn’t a great trainer because of this ONE loss. I get it, ESJ didn’t look good at all, but sometimes that’s just on the fighter. The trainer can only do so much. The fighter has to take it the rest of the way and ESJ didn’t do that last night.

Derrick gave him the adjustments but Spence didn’t respond. All this talk about Derrick being a horrible trainer now is some bullshit. Spence has been a killer this whole time except for last night. Shit happens. Lmao

I knew Crawford would be who he was no doubt, but Spence though, I wasn’t sure. Crawford looked hungry the entire time. Spence was the lion at the top of the hill that felt like the food would just be there with no real work needing to be done.

I feel like Spence underestimated Crawford’s abilities in the ring. I just got that feeling leading up to the fight. Like he knew Bud could fight, but just didn’t believe Bud was that good.

That fight was extremely hard to watch.
Spence brought NOTHING to the table.
The fight should have been long stopped by Derrick James cause Spence hard NO CHANCE
to comeback and win that fight, only take more punishment.

JABS was hurting him after a point....I know that nose is broke....smfh
James even stopped coming in the ring after the 5th round I believe
NOBODY from 154 down has a prayer to beat Crawford at this moment
I'm still in shock
Interesting take by Tarver and he's right

Hahaha AT using his "post fight opinion" to promote his podcast and campaign for jobs....

"Hustle, young man hustle!".... AT was a really good fighter if I recall, but not considered "GREAT" and I think he still has a chip on his shoulder because of it....

*Also that rocky shit.....didn't he "star" in a movie and lose the fight he had around the time the movie came out?!.....

Why did Bud look so much bigger than Spence tonight. Like Spence is even the taller man but looked shorter than Bud. Errol looked physically different than he did against Ugas. Interested in seeing what he rehydrated to. Congrats to Bud
Spence timing was of like a mf, Bud had 2 inches of reach on him, might have made a big difference. Bud is quicker too…

The first round, I think most fans objectively will give to Spence. He got off some combos and a couple clean jabs that hit the target and Bud was looking for openings making adjustments.

But yeah, something changed in the 2nd. Bud flipped the switch. I recall Bud being a "late starter," feeling out an opponent for 3/4 rounds then really turning it on and applying pressure. Not this fight. For Bud to get a KD in the 2nd, I think it surprised him, it damn sure surprised me.

He did not fear Spence and even when he "retreated" it was tactical to set up the counter and then apply pressure. I was upset that Bud wasn't throwing a lot of combos the first 2/3 rounds like Spence was. But he got a knockdown in the 2nd so hell, imma stfu.

Once Spence went down, his face really got red.
(Was hydration / making weight a factor? Maybe, probably, but also for both of them)

He was in new territory, on live TV and in front of Millions.....he said he was ok, but something changed from that point forward.

Not sure if his punches didn't have power or what. But Bud was really in control of the fight round 2 til 9, no question. I didn't hear/ see anyone predict such a lopsided fight.

People need to come up with a different word than “Hating”.

I wanted Bud to win but I could clearly see that something was off about Spence early in the fight.

If you thought he looked the same that’s an opinion but many thought he looked off. It’s not hating, it’s called being observant or calling a spade a spade.
Let me break it down to the slow negros, he got hit and all that shit He talked went out the window......... fanboys are funny

My last thing about making weight / rehydration

Someone twee- no X'd that they knew how Bud rehydrates and she knew he was good, but wasn't sure what Spence does......

In the first All Access episode, you see Spence with the nutritionist in his house making his "meals," one of which was a nutrient shake (not protein, nutrients).....
and Spence even said something to the effect of he found it harder and harder to make weight, plates get smaller and smaller .....

Looking back on those 2 things.....combined with this is really your first big BIG fight after 2 accidents, (1 of which you're lucky to be alive from...) and you're really over 30 now, the body is different

Also did Derrick James not know Bud was gonna box lefty? Was there no training for that?! They couldn't find another natural righty that switched lefty to train with?! Because a righty that's comfortable standing lefty can hurt you with a jab more so than a natural lefty can.....and it showed!!

I don't want to take ANYTHING, not a damn thing, from Bud (he was my pick, the poll was 26 Bud, 30 Spence before the fight, check it.)

And I'm damn sure not making excuses for Spence, he signed up for it, talked all the talk......but his walk was not there and that showed as well.

Props to him for willing to still try to fight through it, but after rd 6 / 7 there was no hope of a decision win and the window on Spence getting a KO had shrank significantly.....

IMO, Derrick James should have saved his fighter and took the abuse / hit to his ego and rep

It would have made Spence wining the possible 154 rematch seem more plausible. After the beating we witnessed, the hype will be big, but not huge like the hype for this fight was.

Spence is and was nice. He is a terminator at 147. A lot of it is because he was a weight bully who was able to retain his stamina. He just keeps moving forward off a great jab. There were times he would be off balanced or over extended, but he was so damn strong and relentless.

Crawford was stronger, faster, better trained (power jab, counter off the jab).

Virgil and Ennis need to fight….folks need to build up their chops before fucking with this monster
