Movie was wayyyy too long. The part about Batman going to Falcone to ask him about his father then going to Alfred to hear the truth was ridiculous. 45 minutes literally wasted right there that should have been cut. Catwoman was a waste to me. They just threw her in the story. I'd rather have Robin in it if Batman was older. Penguin was really good. Riddler was okay. Joker was horrible at the end. :smh:

Too bad we won't get to see this Batman group with the other DC characters. This Batman would mesh better with the other Justice League members, his serious tone is what does it. Dude who played Green Arrow on TV would fit in this universe. It would be great to see this Batman and Hal Jordan going at it.

So there is a 4 hour version of this movie :curse: guess I will be waiting for the digital version to drop.

It was tested, but it's not guaranteed that it will be released. From that's been said about it, it's just the typical origin story, minus the killing of his parents scene. If it does appear on HBO Max, it wont for at least 45 days after the theater release. That was the deal WB struck with Regal.

These are all the quotes from the BGOL movie critics. These same BGOL critics who said Batman was going to bomb are the same ones who also said that Joker was going to bomb. The same ones who also said the Snyder Cut JL was going to bomb. The same ones who also said Suicide Squad was going to bomb. Funny, these are the same folks who also say that Black Adam and The Flash are going to bomb.

I don't like the sound of none of this. The batman universe will be expanded with hbo streaming service t such as the penguin, Gotham pd etc.

I think dceu should ditch the connected universe thing and just stick with telling good self contained stories. They can have self contained micro series within a universe.
They already have a Shazamverse with the shazam movies and the upcoming black adam movie all they have to do is add a justice society movie in this world with the characters that appear in black adam and that makes a micro verse. The over all universe doesn't have to be connected with some arch that leads up to a big bad like darkseid.
They can just have small Easter eggs from other franchises exist in their world like news reports ,Newspaper clips internet buzz etc or like his Shazam had the batatang and a super man cameo. If they want to bring darkside in the they can do that with a self contained justice league trilogy that doesn't need 10 solo super hero movies to set them up. Dceu messed it the first time by trying to keep up with marvel and fast tracking their connected universe. DC just need to find their own lane. Also Disney/MCU should take notes from the Batman movie on his to handle properties like daredevil, punisher etc. This movie shows that you can have a dark gritty mature movie without hard profanity etc.

Good movie but the drop off of attendance was down almost 25% Saturday and 34.7 % by Sunday. Some have gotten comfortable watching long running movies at home, but with the spinoffs on HBOMax leading up to the next movie numbers might go to blockbuster status. This was just a introduction movie they already recouped the money to make the movie they might hit the $500 million box office mark but, I don't see 1 Billion mark on this one.

Batman vs incels
Gotta love it
Incel? So riddler was killing off corrupt officials and crooked cops because he wasn't getting sex? He was an accountant before he went rogue surely he could've hired an escort or two during that time? I think you missed the point of his characte I like the psychology of the riddler . Matt reeves nailed his character down perfectly as a narcissist who wants to be noticed with an obsessive compulsive for riddles. I like his he though him and Batman were actually partners in his mind etc.

Matt Reeves says The Batman HBO Max series is on hold: 'We're not really doing that'

The Gotham PD spin-off has hit a major snag.

By Nick RomanoMarch 07, 2022 at 11:05 AM EST

The Batman swooped into theaters this weekend and earned the second largest box-office haul for a movie debut during the pandemic, and maybe that'll end up being good news for the planned television spin-off.
As of now, the film's director Matt Reeves, who's also been attached to an HBO Max drama set in the world of the The Batman since July 2020, said the series is now officially on hold.
"One thing that we're not doing that I was gonna do... So, there's the Gotham police show, which, that one actually is put on hold. We're not really doing that," Reeves said during an interview for the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, released Monday.

The project had gone through some developmental hiccups with Boardwalk Empire's Terence Winter bowing out in November 2020. Winter was writing the spin-off but parted ways over creative differences.
Still, it felt like parent company WarnerMedia was investing heavily in expanding the DC superhero universe with series, including Peacemaker, which is coming back for a second season. That show's creator, James Gunn, also said he's developing a second spin-off to his DC movie The Suicide Squad.

Reeves said his drama would've acted as a prequel to The Batman. "The series was going to be kind of like 'Prince of the City,' where it was going to be year one because the movie is year two, and I wanted it to be the first appearance," he explained. "But it wasn't going to be a Batman story. It was going about about this corrupt cop, and it was going to be about how the worst gang in Gotham were the GCPD. And [Bruce] would have touched paths with Gordon. It would have been someone to measure him against, but it would be a battle for his soul."

Robert Pattinson played Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Batman, which also starred Jeffrey Wright as Gotham City Police Detective Jim Gordon.
The initial press release announcing the HBO Max series pegged the Batman spin-off as a launching pad for "a new Batman universe across multiple platforms." So, even though this show is on hold, the DC gatekeepers don't seem done with good ol' Bats — especially after the movie raked in $128.5 million domestically over the weekend.
Reeves is also developing a Penguin TV spin-off centered around the character played by Colin Farrell in The Batman.
Reeves told EW, "I said [to HBO Max], 'To be honest with you, the thing that was going to be the seeds of what I thought the next story could be in terms of the Penguin is that I saw there being this kind of 'American dream in Gotham' sort of story, almost like Scarface; the rise of this character who we all know will achieve mythic status.' He is underestimated and he's like a time bomb… They were like, 'Oh my God, we're in!' And that was really exciting because, by that point, Colin had already given life to this character."
Which spin-off idea will be the first to actually make it to the screen? That's Batman's next mystery to solve.

No the I’m talking about the specific scene where the riddler calls for the 500 viewers to do their part. Not the riddler himself, I’m well aware of riddlers character from movies to comics. Also having money doesn’t make any less of incel. The guy in Pittsburgh that shot up lifetime fitness becaue he couldn’t get sex and he was an architect. Surely he could’ve paid for pussy as well.
