Since I answer so many questions, I got a question. Season 1, D'Angelo was approached by Shardene to buy her a drink for 20 bucks. Is this normal? I mean all she did was keep him company? Does this shit happen? Never seen it an any club I went to.

c/s

i think she had just gave 20 to the old dude that had a gripe. she told De angelo 20 to recoup those ends

That's how strip clubs in Baltimore are. No lap dancing, you just buy the chicks drinks that cost up to $20.

YEAH TRUE. THE THING Is most niggas skipped season 2. shit i did the same thing cause most of bgol was saying that it was wack. so when bell got killed i got mad like how can you kill him he was one of the best characters on there. but then few years later i watched season 2 and even i wanted bell dead because he was just a scumbag :smh:

Stringer wasn't a scumbag. Avon was about to fukk up the money and make them lose the towers because they didn't have the drugs. String made a deal to get the best drugs but Avon wouldn't listen to him.

you must not have watched very closely.

stringer bell fucked up EVERY season until his eventual demise.

it was a recurring theme.

the writing was on the wall when bodie, slim charles and poot exposed stringer for the fraud he was in that fake ass "board room" meeting in the funeral home.

Stringer is like all theese cats who have Record labels. he wanted to legitimize and CLEAN UP HIS CASH. avon was busy on that Street shit.

String was a shrewd businessman.

stringer bell was a pretend businessman. a wanna be in the worst way.

surrounded himself with all the trappings, but no substance to his game.

stringer bell was playing the game off the barksdale dime.

just look at all his solo plays. all failures.

I wish someone would post up that scene....:lol:

When Poot raises his hand, as Stringer tries to enforce parliamentary procedure and chastise them about not being professional enough about their business, and says something to the effect of "does the chair(Stringer)recognize that we(our crew/operation) is lookin like some bitch ass niggas right about now?"

I can't remember exactly how the scene went, but...:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

String was like a lil kid who learned the letter A and would go home and repeat that shit. Those little "nuggets" he was spitting about "later for the gangster bullshit" and "territory ain't shit" wasn't no new economic drug theory, it was born out of necessity because the nigga was bitch in the streets. He wanted to get as far away from the street way as possible.

The biggest trick David Simon did was convincing niggas that String was bout shit when he wasn't bout shit.

exactly.

regurgitation without comprehension.

it was stringer's stupidity and flat-out incompetence that lead to the eventual overall downfall.

it was stringer bell's WEAKNESS and IGNORANCE that allowed marlo to keep his foothold on fayette after the towers came down.

had stringer been wise enough to listen to ANY of the crew from poot up to avon, marlo wouldn't have even been in the picture.

i think you all need to revisit the show again.

d'angelo already rejected the state's proffer at brianna's behest.

he was going to carry the years and looked forward to a new life. more free on the inside than on the outside, remember?

there was no reason for stringer to green light d'angelo other than stringer bell was pussy.

for those of you that recall season 1, it was stringer bell's stupidity that cost little man his life too.

no...... String asked.... "What's up with De?

Avon said 'De has to find his own way"

at that point String knew that De' could flip or flop.. why take that chance?

really?

how were leander sydnor and beatrice russell scumbags in equal standing with russell bell?

Leandor and Beatrice were always, Hook, Line and Sinker.... when it came to Mcnulty and his HareBrained schemes. they WILLINGLY participated.

Stringer did it because D'Angelo "got out of pocket" he wouldn't talk to Avon in the joint. Better safe than sorry. D didn't want to get with the program and Stringer took him out before he could snitch on them. He felt more free on the inside because he didn't have to be part of the game anymore. If McNulty had gotten to him he would have snitched because he was weak. Even Avon knew he was weak.

d'angelo told avon and brianna to their faces he wanted nothing more to do with them.

stringer bell tried to paint the picture that d'angelo was unstable and weak to sell the suicide angle.

Would you chance your life on that or someone who said that they were down for life?

d'angelo wasn't doing LIFE.

d'angelo was doing 20 on the state.

which in real terms is about 10 if he did his bid without violating.

cutty did 14.

his mother and uncle were prepared to take that chance.

d'angelo had mentally turned a corner (the gatsby discussion) and was ready to do the 20.

I have to agree with this now that I've had the chance to look at the show and that particular story from a far...

D'angel have no indication that he was "going to bring the whole show" down as Stringer feared. D'angelo was done with the game and all the bullshit that comes with it. He had made his peace and accepted his situation...it was what it was, and he was moving on. Stringer is the one who panic-ed.

In the end, look at who ultimately brought down the show......

string knew family couldnt ever bring themselves to doing it so he did it.

D shot that nigga in the 221. he had niggas outside. and in the hallways.. he couldnt play that nigga to get him outside. he got emotional and shot him.

D protected Wallace.

D was kinda too soft for the Game. that's why Donette fucked off on him...

D last name was anything other than Barksdale.... he woulda BEEN Juxed.

d was a good dude but he was the most "not built for the game" ninja on the entire show. i'd say worse than wallace cuz d caused more problems for the organization.

marlo on the other hand was probably the best built for the game. dude really had no emotional attachment to anything... just wanted his name to ring bells at any cost.

this is your strongest point with regard to being soft.

the others are not compelling arguments because d'angelo himself admitted (to his mother after the NY traffic stop) that he wasn't built for the game.

D was a liability. point blank.

he shoulda went to U of M. been a Terrapin or something.
You guys are out of your mind with this D was a liability shit trying to give props to Stringer.

Did you guys forget that String also ratted on Avon?

Avon got locked up again because of STRINGER BELL.

He would have taken Marlo out and taken West Baltimore back. And all the shit Marlo did in the following seasons wouldn't have happened.

D'Angelo was more of a man than Stringer could ever be.

Do you think String would have done that time that D'Angelo did?

Did you forget that Avon set his boy up to get murdered? Avon was about to fukk up everything Stringer built! he came out of jail with a waterfront condo in his name and a navigator in his name. Stringer was handling shyt above the corner and Avon couldn't think past that shyt. Marlo made Avon look like a straight dumbass bytch.
