Watched these this evening.
With Joel still wounded, Ellie goes out and encounters a bunch of whacked out, religious cannibals and gets caught by them.
Ellie, for once does uses her brains to negotiate getting meds for Joel.
Actress Ashley Johnson debuted as “Anna” in a flashback scene. I haven’t seen her since the 1980s on “Growing Pains”.
Anna squirts out her kid (who we find out is Ellie) while fighting that infected without knowing was funny.
It looks like Ellie developed her immunity due to her mother being bit.
They make it to SLC and meet the Firefly. Pretty decent episode for the season finale with Joel keeping Ellie from being the source of the cure.
Joel in these episodes also showed how ruthless he is in taking mofos out showing no mercy if he doesn’t get the information he wants immediately. There is no negotiation which is how you have to perform in a world like this.
Like, I stated earlier, I have never played the game and have no experience with it. The season played out well and was mainly a character drama. It’s not a “Shoot ‘Em Up” series with non-stop senseless action.
It most likely won’t be until 2025 or later for season 2.
Looking forward to it.

The showrunner of HBO's The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann, seemingly confirmed an appearance by one controversial The Last of Us Part II character for the hit series' second season.
After the resounding success that was Season 1 of HBO's post-apocalyptic PlayStation adaptation, fans are ravenous for what comes next for Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey's Joel and Ellie.
Season 2 has been green-lit for the series with an expected release date toward the "end of 2024 [or] early 2025." After Season 1 adapted the first The Last of Us game so faithfully, many are wondering if the sophomore effort will do the same.
While showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin have made it clear they have "no plans to tell any stories beyond adapting the game," they have also teased that Season 2 "won’t be exactly like [Part II]." Even with that tease, it seems fans can expect one crucial element to make the leap over to this second batch of episodes.
Character Teases for The Last of Us Season 2
Neil Druckmann, who worked as co-showrunner on HBO's The Last of Us adaptation after directing the first two games in the series, teased The Last of Us Part II character Abby's role in the upcoming second season.
Druckmann tweeted, noting that despite there being "No TLoU on HBO tonight," Season 2 "is already on its way" with an image of what looks to be Abby's arm from the Last of Us sequel:
"No 'TLoU' on HBO tonight. But Season 2 is already on its way! Endure & survive!"
The poster comes from The Last of Us's Outbreak Day celebration in 2017, where PlayStation and TLoU developers Naughty Dog honor the day the in-universe zombie pandemic broke out.
Although it was not public knowledge that the arm on this poster was Abby after fans got a hold of the game in 2017, it became very clear it was this iconic character.
Why Abby Is Important for The Last of Us Season 2

While changes from The Last of Us Part II have been teased by Druckmann and Mazin, it is unsurprising that Abby will be a part of their plans. The removal of her character would require an almost from-the-ground-up narrative rebuild of Part II's story.
Abby was always going to be a part of Season 2 (and the all-but-confirmed Season 3), but it is still exciting to see Druckmann teasing fans along with the first hint at her character in relation to the TV series.
What will be interesting is to see who the team casts for the character for the HBO adaptation.
Star of the series, Pedro Pascal, recently pontificated "there is a chance" filming for Season 2 could get underway by the end of the year. So, The Last of Us team could very well already be on their search for the live-action Abby.

To everyone I spoke to who never played the game, they seem to enjoy the show a whollllleeee lot more.
The gamers appreciate it for sure. But we know what was gonna happen to Sam and Henry, to Riley, to Tess. And we knew how the season ends.
And we know about Part ll. So when shit goes down there, it won’t hit as hard for us. But there was a huge uproar when Part ll dropped and I’m curious to see how the TV crowd reacts to the scenarios presented.

You would think in 2023 the audience would be a little more sophisticated at this point.
This ain't new.
Adaptation is like that.
I don't want xerox copies of the game or source material. What fun is that? Also it doesn't work it doesn't translate. That is not how art works.
The first Harry Potter might be the only modern example of a book being SLAVISHLY reinterpreted for the screen. And while it was expertly done that didn't equate into a great movie.
If anyone wants the game then go play it.
And now I definitely want to play the game. I already bought them.
But I have a feeling part 2 is probably going to have some gay themes that was touched on from this season. I could be wrong. Again if you played the game and ain't like it?

Without question, as mentioned in other post arcane and Castlevania are good, but they don't exactly adapt a specific game. This is the first video game adaptation to actually adapt a story directly from a game properly.
This thing can go so many places in one scene It will full lone wolf cub John wick I am legend etc etc

If you aren't old in a home and on a breathing g tube or gastric tube you should be fine and you can go on ignoring the virus that can kill you if you have a core morbidity like you're overweight or you have high BP and heart issues
