Anybody fuck with this series and/or have a stateside DL/streaming option? Supposedly a new season is airing now on STACKTV in Canada. First two seasons stream on HULU here in USA which is where I saw it last year

Checked out the 2-part documentary yesterday and today. Good stuff.

My fave portion of the doc' was when they showed an assortment of casting / audition clips showing a handful of people going for a particular role, followed by the recognizable person who got it. Amongst the auditions you'd see the occasional name or face you recognized, and a number of people you were unfamiliar with.

Pretty impressive for Dan Levy. He first got noticed here in Canada just past the mid-2000s. He was one of the original on-air hosts on MTV Canada based out of Toronto, and co-hosted an aftershow for the popular reality show, The Hills.

Very funny with him and his co-host lovingly shit-talking those reality tv people.

What really worked for the aftershow format they had was they filmed in a nice older-style theater / venue. Live audience, and they were recapping the Laguna Beach / The Hills-type stuff right after it aired.

Both hosts were very funny and quick-witted.

It was cool to see Dan get major success with Schitt's Creek many years later. He wasn't an overnight success story ... took him awhile.

Tulsa King season 2

I'm starting to appreciate movies and TV shows about older gangsters much more these days. It's mainly because of believable performances. When Sylvester Stallone delivers his lines when portraying Dwight 'The General' Manfredi it's as if he's been portraying the character for decades. It's still fun watching the crew he had put together in Tulsa but of course there are problems approaching on the horizon. From New York to those who already have illegal stakes in Tulsa. Cal Thresher portrayed by Neal McDonough( this dude either over did it in a tanning bed or on a beach) is definitely going to be a problem and it's going to be interesting watching these characters go head to head.

The Old Man season 2

Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow are still equally great in this series. The story threads are still interesting as characters try to make some kind of peace with their pasts. Characters grasping for some kind of power and I'm not sure who can really be trusted as the story becomes more involving and I'm loving the cliffhangers at the end of each episode.

I haven't had a chance to check out the first 2 episodes of The Old Man (season 2) with pops yet. They weren't available to dload with pops last Thursday. Gonna check them out this week with the start to Tulsa King s2, and more of Slow Horses OR Bad Monkey.

Mom was in town this weekend. Took her out for Japanese food yesterday evening & then came back and watched the Emmy Awards (DVR'd them to avoid all ad breaks). Also updated her flashdrive for her ... gave her the following stuff:

MOVIES - Trap / Greedy People / Cop Land / Didi / Twisters / The Bikeriders and a few other titles.

SERIES - Roadkill / Tulsa King (season 1) / The Old Man (season 1) / Shogun / English Teacher (first 3 eps) / Only Murders in the Building season 4 (first 3 eps) / etc.

She wasn't sure about Shogun initially, but once she saw the cast & crew racking up the Emmy Awards, she was like - "On second thought - yeah, I need to see this!" - She read the book back in the day, and I explained to her that part of it was filmed less than 15 minutes away along a local shoreline. We walked along Barnet Beach in the morning, and I was pointing out how it was partly filmed in the region.

Tulsa King - Showed her the first 20 mins of the pilot and said it was fun to see the "fish out of water" vibe of the show with him in his new surroundings. She might not dig the action / violence ... but she'll like some of the funny interactions.

The Old Man ... explained to her it's a slower burn at times, but a solid cast. Apparently there will be more of Lithgow in season 2 (and she's always been a fan of his) - so I'll probably save season 2 of The Old Man later for her this fall.
