About 15 years ago a bunch of us we're talking about abortion with a mixed race crowd. One white girl spoke staunchly against abortion saying how it should never be done under any circumstances and would not hear anyone who spoke in favor of it
After the crowd left I spoke with her by herself and she told me that she has had 3 so far. When I asked her why she was staunchly against it she said, "My mother told me that no man wants to marry a woman with somebody else's kid. If you have dreams of ever getting married and having a family, either swallow them or abort them."
I know a lot of black people with Blended families, but have you ever met a white girl with a mixed black baby and a white husband? If you have, it definitely wasn't many.

Some of our biggest problems lie because far too many of us have kids long before we are ready financially or mentally (before the age of 23) or with a person who is not wanting or capable of being a husband and wife team.
Having kids at a early age with a person who has no intention of being a lifetime partner almost guarantees a lifetime of struggle and poverty for both the mother and the child

I believe being a single mother is accepted far too much in the black community. It is definitely more accepted than it is in the white middle class community. Just because your mother did it does not make it the way to be or the thing to do.

If you want to compare NBA players from this generation to previous ones understand that basic shit done now was highly illegal then. In my eyes, every modern player carries the ball every time they dribble. Period. The crossover is carrying. It's a struggle for women because, at every turn, you have people telling you what to look like, what to be shaped like, etc. Once I focused on what made ME happy and what kept me in a good place, I focus on doing that and zone out the rest of the bs. That often means, for me, decreasing the amount of content and amount of time I spent on all types of social media. But, I've learned a lot about myself and, for me, that's golden.
