He assaulted someone during the ceremonies.

Something that has never happened in any of the other 93 ceremonies that preceded this one.

Now he is banned from the same ceremonies.

They didn't take back his Oscar for King Richard. He earned that award.

I don't believe that he's banned from nominations for future Oscars. He wouldn't be able to be there to receive it though, if he won.
