This is another reason why Young Rock works so well.

The things Rock is turning to comedy may have been painful or sad for him as a child/teen/young man but instead of trying to re-live that trauma, he makes it comedic and easier to swallow and understand how he got through it.

Found it to be hit & miss. Some things work well, and others don't and are forced.


Really enjoyed both parents throughout. Found Carlton to be unbelievable, and Hillary (influencer) / Ashley (hardly there) were under-utilized and more should have been written for their characters.

Cool show. Dark side of the original.

Quick Summary
Phil is way cooler.
Hillary dresses like a thot 100% of the time.
Jeffrey is definitely a hitter.
Aunt Viv just might cheat and fuck Michael Ealey
Will was casted perfectly.
Carlton will probably OD, or at least attempt to off himself.
The new Lisa ain't got shit on Nia Long. Could have been casted way better.

Most importantly: Will violated majorly by fucking w/ Carlton's girl, but the show is making it seem like Carlton's wrong for not being cool w/ the shit. On what planet do you move in w/ your fam and fuck his ex-girl in HIS house?
