Descent series but sometimes the writing and acting got on my nerves.

There are many times when the writing of the script is obviously RZA. He attempts to communicate complex ideas in two or three lines and it just comes across as juvenile and corny. It reminds me of someone who has been compromised intellectually by taking too much drugs or someone with a low i.q. trying to explain phenomena they just don't have the capability to express.

The handicap in some of the writing can only be matched by the handicap and lack of range in the lead actor Ashton Saunders. At this time, dude just doesn't have the range to play a main character. It seems as if he only has the ability to communicate confusion, weakness and pain. Its the only emotions I've ever seen coming for this guy regardless of the situation, scene or project. Everyone else is pretty good but the lead actor is trash.

Is it just me or was the entire second season filled with "white saviors". At first I was just a little pissed with RZA's white lawyer coming in judging, " dropping knowledge", saving the day, and then having RZA's mom repeating the exact same thing the cac lawyer said as if she was enlightened by this nigga. Then the shit happened again and again through out the season. Devine's interaction with his white construction boss, RZA's interaction with the white "rock" chick who happened to be a rap executive while shopping the demo, and a few others I can't recall now. All examples of these good, magical whites that appear in a black morass sprinkling their magical cac pixie dust all over shit; delivering truths and saving the day. By the end of the season I was fully pissed and I wondered how intentional this shit really was and who was responsible for it.

I am thinking he knows he family. If he told him it would be hell. He did what is best for his cousin. He knows his cousin. ODB had special needs. Please believe that.
Yeah but like you said he's family. Treat him as such. You don't make a move like that good or bad. He didn't even tell him.

On another note......between doing Fantasy with Mariah, Ghetto Superstar with Pras and Mya......Shimmy Ya and Got Your Money......could you argue he had bigger hits than anyone else in the Wu? I hear these records in films even in 2021.

Good point. I think the only major solo joint (wu member with a non wu member) I can think of that got as much attention as those is , meth and Mary joint.
Freak'n you remix

No

Meth was wu classics solo and posse cuts

Meth had more features with bigger artists

Remember Meth got a classic with Biggie

All I Need with Mary J, SWV and other R&B hits classics

Does the hook on ice cream, cream, etc

His own solo records - method man release yo delf etc

Meth & Red and the How High single

That limp biscuit record was a few times platinum

And ODB is probably my favorite

But it's definitely Meth then ODB then Ghost in term of hit chart topping records.

good example. but what i think Dtown is saying is that today, ODB's songs are still heard and played often. More often than any other member of the Wu. But yes, Meth has classics.

I hear you it's a interesting point

Especially generationally.

Do kids now KNOW more records by ODB especially since they using his music more in commercials movies and TV shows?

I think Method got bigger "pop" records based on sales if you wanna use that metric.

I stand by my point

But you made me wanna take a closer look.

Its not about the what, its about the how. Should they change the race of people that helped them? Of course not. I was referring to the simplified and often paternal fashion white characters are presented in the show.

You black folks are going through your shit, I'll appear, present you with these lessons, show you how to do things and disappear. Really? This is where good writing comes in. Don't present over simplified bs was my point. Especially when race is a factor.

And secondly, this is a fictionalized account of Wu history. Many scenes were changed and made up. That's why I said it would be interesting to know where those specific story lines came from and who wanted them in there the way they appeared.

Im not denying he got classics….but ODB got MONSTERS. Ghetto Superstar and Fantasy…..bro it’s 2021 and LG using ODB music to sell their products? Who else in the Wu can say that?

I feel like a lot of Meth records got stuck in the 90s…..Meth was the star and been acting for 25 plus years. But I think we sleeping on ODB career.

And this was just off the top...

I didn't really use any wu tang records like that.

Meth catalogue is INSANE.

his soundtrack records are classic

These don’t have the same impact as ODB records though….

Knocked Up used Shimmy Ya to set the tone for the film…..”baby I like it raw” as the credits cross the screen….ODB did what he said he wanted to do. I gotta give him the nod not as the best rapper, not the most classics….his music has stood the test of time.
