Check out the Spectrum.
That's about as close to the old mutrons as you can get without buying a reissue. Its not cheap but its not as expensive as a Mutron and its more versatile.
Damn thanks for showing this. You can get that Stevie Wonder sound with this Pedel. How much it cost?

Excited as hell cause I'm fully understanding music theory now dealing with scales. Learning to play them all up and down the neck and understanding the WWhWWWh theory. Understanding a lot of songs are played in 1 4 5 pattern and using it with power chords. The sounds I'm making sound real nice!!! Very excited I'm understanding this now. Learning the importance of scales.

Picked my guitar back up after a couple months of being stagnant. I discovered I have to learn to play songs instead of just learning chords. The songs keep me interested and are a challenge to me. These are the songs that I can pretty much play now after about a month of pracice though I am slow on some of the chords but I've been putting in 2 hours per day:

Tennessee Whiskey
River by Leon Bridges
Purple Rain
Bring It On Home to Me by Sam Cooke.

Trying to add a new song every other week.

Wow that's great!!! No question just focusing on one thing on the guitar can get stale. There's so many things to learn and work on. Learning songs is fun and reassures your getting better. When I was able to play Maze & Frankie Beverly's "Before I let go" I was super excited!! Can also play Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Down on the Corner." Can play the 1st part or Marvin Gaye's "Distant Lover", but or course that's on base to get that true sound. So I've decided to learn bass as well.

That's god stuff bruh. Oh you jumping out there for real learning bass as well. That's big time! My only issue is trying to nail the chord changes on time. Some chords I have no problem with, but others such as the F major chord and the B minor where you are using all four fret fingers can be challenging, Though, I'm seeing as my fret hand strengthens, I'm getting quicker.

The other thing is trying to sing while keeping the strumming patterns on songs where the lyrics are not perfectly in sinc with the rhythm can seem so foreign. But I'm just thinking the more I practice the more comfortable I'll get with it.

Hey I'm sticking with it this time and will keep this thread updated with my progress.

Yeah those chord changes are tough. Some harder than others. Just do them slowly till you pick up speed. My uncle was taught how to play guitar years ago by a guy who use to play with Ray Charles. One of the tips he gave him was to make sure your left thumb is behind the neck. Keeps your fingers closer to the fretboard for speed once your muscle memory kicks in as to where the chord or notes are you wanna play. Working on playing "Everyday People" by Sly and the Family Stone. Try it. It's only a simple C and G chord but you gotta go slow with the changes. Eventually you'll pick up speed and play how you want. I'm getting a little closer to playing it normal speed. I love the guitar. Best hobby I've ever invested in!!!!!

Good info. I do catch myself playing with my thumb over top of the neck instead of behind it on some chords. I will be more cognizant of that. I will also check out Everyday People. Preciate the tips. When I get real nice, I may upload some audio to this thread. It's pretty cool how nice Im getting with practice. And mos definitely digging this hobby.

Guys, for the Dsus4 chord I think I'm gonna keep all 4 fingers on the fret. Not gonna lift the 2 when adding the pinky. Tom Petty plays "Free Fallin'" that way. Messes me up when I take the 2 off cause I take the 3 off too. Just gonna leave the 2 and add the pinky.

Something I learned is that on some chords you have to modify your finger placement to where its most comfortable for you. I have done this on a couple chords myself. Do what works for you.

I just picked up 2 more songs:
Aint No Sunshine When She's Gone
Best Part - Daniel Caesar

A good example of changing hand positions when playing different chord shapes, scales and arpeggios... Ben Lacy. If you ever go to one of the NAMM shows, seek him out he's usually there

@jack walsh13 you been on one. You really been doing your thing. I proud of you homie. We started playing around the same time. I got sick and slacked up for a couple weeks and then started a new gig. I am still practicing though. Playing the guitar is such a relaxing way to unwind and it’s so rewarding when you can play a new song or chord.

It is a lot of fun. The thing that's so exciting about the guitar is there's so much to learn. I love learning new things. And I feel everytime I practice I get better. Everything there is to do on a guitar and bass I wanna learn. People kinda look at you different when you play an instrument. I noticed that. I took Woodchuck in April I'm getting a Fender Bass. Excited to learn both the electric and bass at the same time. Anything is possible and I will be the best bassist and guitarist I can possibly be!!!! We can all do this Kirk.:clap::clap:
