Yeah man I just wanted a 5 legged stand as opposed to the 3 legged joints. We payin good money for these axes bruh so we gotta have quality stands to rest them on.Just saw this post..that's a grip for a stand!
Sheeeid, I have a couple decent guitars I didn't pay that much for..
I have a weird shaped BC Rich that I use one of those stands for, but the basic metal A frame stands are perfect for most guitars...and they're only 10.
All mine are on them..can't lean em against the wall.
One time, I ordered a set of 2 online for like $18 but something happened and they sent me an extra set for free. So, now I have 3 extras, which is like an invitation to buy a new ax... smh
Bruh, if you were in the A, I'd give you a stand for free.
I'll do that good lookin.Depending on your city check offerup for some great deals on stands and amps, shit everything . Have you all checked out Ultimate Guitar app? Pretty good app also.

Eventually I want to get a quality keyboard and learn piano. I heard the guitar is harder than the piano.Nothing wrong with asking stuff, family. Good to see your enjoying guitar.
My collection is not flashy or filled with expensive guitars, It'll do though! I'm a vocalist first, then guitar, then keyboards, then bass. Gig as a singer, occasionally sitting in on guitar with one of the bands I play with. But the pandemic deaded a lot of that for a good long while.
I mainly use my instruments for recording/production from home.
The Grotes are decent from what I've heard. Sounds like you made some good purchases!
Yes the Firefly 338s are 335 copies. I like them. My first one I took to Guitar Center in 2018. Played it and a Gibson ES-335 back to back clean through a Twin Reverb. As playability goes, I really didn't notice a big difference in sound quality from guitar to guitar throughout the various pickup configs. The main thing I noticed was different was when neck and bridge pickup are both engaged, you can more gradually and completely move from bridge to neck and vice versa on the Gibson. Whereas with the Firefly there was a definite cutoff point. 338s have improved over the last few years since.
You sound like me when I used to hit thrift stores and used record shops and get albums. I wasn't interested in pristine condition of the album covers. I cared that the records were playable and that I could study them and learn how producer/writers like Gamble and Huff, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Barry White and Quincy Jones put together and structured their songs. Also, even though CDs were the rage, I liked the organic, warmth and analog feel of vinyl records...classic old school style.Offerup, Goodwill, and pawn shops are my go to spots for finding deals...
So many people buy guitars and never learn, so they sit around like work out gear...another thing I try to never buy new.
I try to catch folks wanting to get rid of their gear ..for little to nothing..
Only 2 of my axes were new..the others were bought used at huge discounts...
Eventually I want to get a quality keyboard and learn piano. I heard the guitar is harder than the piano.
Good points bruh. Just learnig guitar has really opened me up to want to learn other instruments as well. Piano, bass, and Sax is what I'm thinking about. You can accomplish anything if you focus and put your mind to it. I am determined to learn them all. As far as my favorite gutarists I'd say B.B.King, George Benson (That's why I got his guitar) Ernie Isley, Van Halen, Jose Feliciano to name a few. So many talented guitarist and bassists out there overall though. One of my favorite bassists is James Jamerson. Had it not been for him the Motown sound we came to know and love wouldn't have been. Many don't know about him cause he died so young due to alcohol poisoning.Interesting. Seems like I would hear the opposite. I know Eddie Van Halen and Stanley Jordan both started out on piano. For me, it's hard to say which has been more difficult, especially as an ear player. On both instruments, I started out teaching myself basic chords. Then inversions and substitutions. Years later, I'm still learning.
Who are your favorite guitarists, alive and dead?

Once you start to move to more high end guitars, Reverb is good and Ebay can lend some good results as well. Right now, I don't have a lot of interest in buying anything more as guitars go. But I might decide to get a good hollow body jazz box at some point.
Man my 6yr old would go nuts if I learned any part of this.
Great choices. I'm a fan of Jose, and George Benson too.Good points bruh. Just learnig guitar has really opened me up to want to learn other instruments as well. That's fair. That's why it's good to have lots of photos from multiple angles and also know enough about the instrument in question to be able to spot a counterfeit.I've been on Reverb and a few other online stores...pretty good deals there, but I prefer not to buy without playing it first...too many bootlegs and junk out there.
That's a respectable collection! In my collection, I have 2 pretty nice pieces..a special edition custom Tele (plays like a dream) and another ax I got as a gift...my son is a pro sponsored by a major manufacturer, so he gets his guitars for free. As a Father's day gift, he got one for me, as well, that was wayyy more expensive than I could afford now. Those are my bottom bitches..
Great choices. I'm a fan of Jose, and George Benson too.
James Jamerson Sr. is THE prototype for electric bass. Current people, I like what Thundercat does.
B.B. King, Johnny Guitar Watson and Eric Gale are my top 3 favorite electric players. Wes Montgomery, Jimi and Pat Metheny rank high on my list too.
Current faves:
Jabrille "Jimmy James" Williams
Gary Clark Jr.
and Melanie Faye

Your son sounds like a stand up guy to do that for his dad.
Sounds like a great show! Ernie got the playing with the teeth thing from Hendrix- who used to play with the Isley Brothers. Jimi played with his teeth, played with the guitar behind his head, did barrel rolls across the stage while playing...ridiculous.Yeah Wes Montgomery smooth as fuck with it. Love listening to him play. Man I saw the Isley Brothers perform in New York at B.B. King's in Midtown before they closed down. Was floored by Ernie playing that guitar. When he started playing with his teeth......... Some of the most amazing shit I've ever seen bruh!!!!! I have video somewhere. I gotta post it.

Let me know how that sounds.I use fretwraps to modify my sound now. Work pretty good but that sponge is something to try for sure.
@respiration @black again @woodchuck @head214. I was just talking about James Jamerson and look what I found? I had no idea about the foam sponge at the end of the bass neither. Didn't know he played with one finger as well.

That's the beauty of it. No one can say for certain what won't work for someone. Playing an instrument is like a batting stance in baseball. No two are EXACTLY the same. You can play a million different ways, you can learn multiple instruments at once, and you can create the sound YOU like.Love lil tips like this...
I love how in alotta respects, with playing music, there's no right or wrong...just what feels comfortable.
