He does switch his styles and I agree with most of what you said.
It just when people say “Marketing” with him, he’s really not the most marketable if you really want to break it down.

but I still say he has a team of folks behind him that help with damage control and keeping him relevant..
when him and meek was battling, it wasnt meek going up against drake alone, it was drakes whole team flooding the internet,
protecting their cash cow... they couldnt do that with pusha t.. and drake still fucked up over that...
but again, drake wouldnt have been so successful if he wasnt good at taking styles..

Yeah I think Drake beat the odds for sure. When Kanye said he came through his lineage I think he is right. Kanye made it more open for Drake to be accepted as hip hop was always about how gangsta someone was at the early part of this millennium which makes it sad how him and Drake fell out.
Diddy I don't know if he is trying to be relevant with a younger audience or what, but him saying Drake is top 5 came out of nowhere. What Drake has done on the billboards can't be ignored though regardless. The man is competing with Beatles and Michael Jackson of all people.
The real debate is can the new artists be really compared to artists from the past on an even level? What would happen if Drake had to work under their model or they worked under the current model? As my friend pointed out to me today, Drake has people having his music at their fingerprint with phones for downloads. Comparing him to 90's rappers is kind of unfair in comparison to how Diddy got Biggie into the mainstream.
