You are new to the show? This is widely known and discussed. It has actually hurt the show that they aren't in any scenes together since the break up.
There is one scene were Cersei walks around Bronn. It was weird to watch.
It is also interesting because I am sure Cersei could have said "either he goes or I go". Jerome (Bronn) would have been fired immediately.
His character is not essential and could have been recast.

From what I understand they dated and broke up long before GOT.
Again from what I read they've never been in the same scene together. I thought I remember seeing them together but now I'm not sure.

So I'm still having some issues with what the show has told us in regards to the Night King. It's possible that I missed something
According to the show his motivation is to bring death to the living and destroy any memory of it. Lets come back to that in a minute
In the show the powers the NK has shows us are
1. Being able to raise the dead as wights and animals that he (alone apparently) can control
2. Being able to create new white walkers from human babies
3. Olympic athlete level javelin skills
4. Super quick reflexes
5. Being able to perceive Bran in his greenseer mode
6. Able to track Bran's location once he marked him.
He was created 1000's of years ago during which time many Long winters have come and gone.
So why did he wait so long to come and try to attack the south?
If you say he had to wait til the wall came down, then my first response is well the wall was never gonna come down unless he had a dragon to melt it. The only reason he got a dragon to melt it was because Dany led her dragons north of the wall. If Dany doesn't do that the NK is still standing on the docks at Hardhome.
So, ok, Lets say the NK had the greensight too and he was able to foresee that a dragon was going to be there. I can go along with that, but then I have to ask how did he foresee all that, but not foresee that he was gonna get stabbed by someone with the one weapon that can kill him when he attacked Winterfell.
If he didn't foresee Arya's finishing move then he couldn't foresee getting a Dragon either, which means he was just lucky when the A team brought the dragon north of the wall.
So back to the intent of the NK as described by the show. He wanted to destroy life and all memory of life. Why did he have to wait for all the events that happened in the show to do all that?
What was the event that Triggered the NK to act now vs 100 or 500 years before?
Remember the Wildling King had told the Nights Watch that the White Walkers were coming long before Bran went north of the wall and got activated by the OG 3 Eyed Raven. So he was already on the move before Bran even was aware of him.
The logical explanation is that he he foresaw all of it coming, but once again he foresaw all that and didn't foresee his own termination. Just doesn't add up to me.

Yeah I think he said the show should have been 10 seasons. With each season getting 10 episodes.
Explicit intent would have added a very rich layer to the NK in my opinion.

That was 13 years ago and the one thing I remember the most about our conversation after work what's the look. That lifeless look he came to my table with was gone.

the night king was waiting on winter to return. for the seasons to change before he attacked. not sure how u missed that. seasons work differently on that planet.
It's clear to me that D&D created the NK because they thought the show watchers would need some tangible enemy to be the big bad instead of just a general menace of zombie like characters behind a wall.
I'm ok with that as choice but don't build up all this intrigue and mystery around the character if you gonna just ignore it when the character's arc comes to an end.
Kinda hope Martin can get off his ass and salvage the white walker storyline in the books now.
I didn't miss it. This is only the latest Winter. There was a winter that lasted for 3 years or something like that during Neds lifetime. I remember reading Tyrion was born during the same Winter. So Why was this winter special?
Remember the first scene of season 1 was The White Walker killing Wildlings and men of the Nights Watch. No one had seen them for a 1000 years and this was before Bran got crippled and before Danys dragons hatched.
So what triggered the Walkers and NK to come south?
The only thing that makes sense is thst Jon's birth fulfilled some prophesy that triggered something with the Walkers but the show makes it Clear that Jon was not the focus or worry of the NK.
