So does this only apply to only rifles that are pistols? What about PCC with braces? Are they exempt?
Pistol Caliber Carbines are considered rifles, just chambered in a caliber typically used in handguns. I don't see the ATF making any exemption for them.

The following weapons are regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA):
  1. A shotgun having a barrel or barrels of less than 18 inches in length;
  2. A weapon made from a shotgun if such weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches or a barrel or barrels of less than 18 inches in length;
  3. A rifle having a barrel or barrels of less than 16 inches in length;
  4. A weapon made from a rifle if such weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches or a barrel or barrels of less than 16 inches in length;
  5. Any other weapon, as defined in subsection (e);
  6. A machinegun;
  7. Any silencer (as defined in section 921 of title 18, United States Code); and
  8. A destructive device.

Lil .22 plinker I made. Ruger Mark IV with the barrel chopped to 2.1" and threaded for my DeadAir MaskHD can. The short length keeps the rounds from going supersonic. She is quiet as mouse farts and fun to shoot. Still gotta get a Holosun and dovetail mount.

Dope! I built similar using an MKIV.
Where y'all get the work done for chopping the barrel & threading? Suggestions or ideas?

Local guy does my chops, pin & welds, engraving his name is Jeb Burnett of Armtac

If you can't find anyone local I'd suggest D.Wilson Manufacturing

If you want to do something exotic Cotton Branch Customs is good to go. He did this 870 barrel for me last summer. Took a long ass 870 barrel (28" I think) and cut it down to 14", and installed a Wilson Combat rifle sight on it. The slick part was melding it with the vent rib. He also threaded it for a choke.

Think I'm finally done with the Benelli M4. It didn't come with night sights, and the various ones on the market were dim. I sent them off to Tooltech Gunsight to have real Trijicon tritium lamps installed.

I plan on shooting more slugs out of this thing so I copped an Aimpoint Micro T2 and a Scalarworks SYNC/02 mount. The mount is low enough that the iron sights co-witness in the lower 1/3 of the optic. I also got an IO cover for the body. I cut the existing endcap covers off and modified it a bit to fit clear flip-up covers on it.

Also got a 6-position recoil tube from RXArms for the stock. Way better than the 3-position it came with.

Changed out a few things on the .556 I had a 1.5x4 scope on it but realized I needed a bit more magnification so I traded it out for a 1x6

Changed out the handguard for a KAC URX4 I like it better, less weight and slimmer than the URX 3.1
Also changed out the buffer tube to an Aero Precision because it has a notch for the buffer retainer pin, so I don't need to stake the endplate to prevent rotation.
Most of the controls are from Forward Controls Design. Only thing left to do is get some mlok cable management clips for the light cable, and get an offset mount for a red dot for real close shots. Oh and some rail panels for the handguard too.

Changed out the optic on my 300blk to an Eotech XPS2-0. I like it, the reticle is bright, and it has auto-off to save battery.

I figured out the problem I was having with subs not locking back on the last round too, I narrowed it down to the gas block. I took the Superlative Arms adjustable off and installed a Yankee Hill Machine non-adjustable and she instantly started locking back with 100% success rate.

Those night sites clean, you fancy. You sent sites off or the whole gun?

I prefer that kinda light mount with the end cap button as opposed to the pressure pad & cable, that doesn't seem practical at all for a defense weapon.

Sparrow?

I have two, this one is a factory threaded version. My OG I had threaded by Morgan at Class 3 Machining.
I do have an OG Sparrow, but these two are a Rugged Oculus and a Huntertown Guardian.

Nah the sights come off, just had to unscrew them and send them out. The job cost way to fuckin much honestly @ like $330 but it was the only option, and they will last at least a decade before they get dim. For light activation on this thing, the push button was the only config that felt right and made practical sense. Theres too much recoil to be worrying about keeping a pressure switch down, and actually that McClicky Z68 button has momentary light function.

Yea, all mine have momentary and constant on function, its why I see no use in a pressure switch with a cable to get caught on everything.

I have Magpul offset light mount with an Olight with end cap button positioned with where my forward hand thumb can access it

I just wish it was easier to take on & off so I could use the light without pointing my rifle.

Greetings Fam.
I don't know what type of scope rings you all put on your rifles, but I use Warne or Talley. Here's a vid of the QD (quick detachable) rings.

For the 300 Win, I use the Warne (but they are fixed). On the 416, I'm going to use the qd Talley.

I install the scope, rings, and bases myself. Also, I use low scope rings and bases. I don't use scopes with large bells because 300-400 yards is the max I'm going shoot at an animal when hunting. I don't do target/competition shooting, so I don't need that kind of precision.
