Those deep fakes are SCARY. Can't imagine studios doing movies in the future with a deep fake Sean Connery and his estate getting zero dollars. SAG better not budge an inch on that shit.
I think they'll just start creating their own original digital actors. Then they will own all the rights.

I’m glad they are working towards a deal but I hate to say this a lot of people, including corporations are going to have to make a transition in the next 10 years. Things are going to be very interesting in America during the next 10 years.

Just as scary, if not more. And that tech is so close. There are AI influencers and digital onlyfans models now. We're in a crazy transition.

Alyson, who arrived at the studios for rehearsal on that day, was also greeted with picketers targeting her. A sign played on her signature line from "American Pie" which read, "This One Time.... At Band Camp…." It continued, "Alyson Hannigan Screwed the Entire WGA. WGA is Picketing Dancing with the Stars and BBC Studios Los Angeles."

Another sign, meanwhile, attacked Matt as it read, "Matt Walsh don't dance as a scab! WGA is picketing Dancing with the Stars and BBC Studios Los Angeles." One other warned the stars, "Can't Dance Your Way Out of This."

A writer, who was among the picketers in front of the studio, told Deadline, "WGA respects all writing whether it's a single writer on a feature film with 500 people or it's a single writer on a TV show with 500 people, it's all the same to us and we're going to protect writing across the board." The striking writer further added, " 'Dancing with the Stars' is a WGA signatory show. It shouldn't be shooting right now."

"ABC has no fall programming, narratively speaking, because they chose to impose this strike upon us," the writer continued. "So we want to disrupt all of their programming as much as we can so they'll come back to the table with a reasonable offer."

Meanwhile, "MacGyver" executive producer David Slack shared, "The reason that it's so important that 'Dancing with the Stars' not move forward with scab writing is that it encourages the studio to make the strike last longer and to hold out to see if other shows will be able to move forward with scab writing."

Yo, that's what I been screaming. Gatekeepers about to get smashed and ran through. Nothing but tropes and lazy shit. And nowadays, writers ain't even subtle about shit like they used to be.

And on the other side, fuck the studios too. We know they are greedy. But business people are always 10 steps ahead of creatives. Most creatives just want to create.

At the end of the day, AI and indie creators are the future and studios have to know this shit. Well, the ones who don't want to be blackberry and blockbuster do. And remember, those companies were big shit who could do no wrong. AI is like going from the rich having the horse/buggy to everyone having a private jet. The leap is so big most people just don't get it. :smh:

I'm sure but the overall point is that continued lack of unity and support after DECADES of complaining about the industry

And we STILL can't join together to battle a common enemy

Says everything that needs to be said about our present and future

They getting STREAMING NUMBERS!!!
:roflmao2::roflmao: Man. That shit can be a nightmare if the businessmen in the room want it to be. We know that it's all about ad-based revenue and handing out subscriptions(as I've shown). From wall street to the writers, these studios had everyone fooled with the streaming shit. The streaming numbers vary according to who the studios talk to. Writers, advertisers, and wall street get different bullshit with different narratives.

Remember you said you like to verify the info instead of letting others do the heavy lifting? I bet most writers feel the opposite. They think this streaming shit going to work like the old days.

I thought this, because we start and never finish a bunch of shows and movies. Do they get paid by the minute streamed, or something else. Sometimes I just want to go back and watch a particular scene. If I have it bookmarked or on my dvr do they get paid every time I watch Nemo with my granddaughter?

Your example is so much more wholesome than the scene I would have used as an example.

I'm still "rewatching" her scene in the church with Natasha Lyonne to this day... :jackoff: The woman deserves her residuals!

If I was an entertainment writer, I'd be on the lookout over the next year or two to observe how/if this strike experience influences the content writers put out when they return from it.
