This Book is named Fire and Blood and is about the rule of King Viserys.

This is why there have been so many time jumps because the 10 episodes cover the time line of his 30+ year rule.

In the books the story is told by the Maesters according to first hand witness accounts and rumors. House of the Dragons is supposed to clear up the court rumors and give truth to innuendo.

Its like the twist at the end of the last episode when Laenor moved to Atlanta with his white boyfriend Quarl (not anti gay but dats a stereotypical gay ass whiteboy name). The Maesters could never had known Laenor (now Aretha w/red wig) faked his death and now works at Starbucks and lives in a studio w/ Quarl (now Stardust) in Buckhead.

Dont worry people. We got plenty of story to go. No more time jumps and character changes for a while once the kids get grown.

I can't be mad at that. Even as a Tolkien fan some of the city names have gone way over my head. Especially all the Elvish lands in the earlier episodes. But I think the last two episodes have tied the world building up perfectly for finale and season 2.

We're getting to see the death of the Southlands and the 2nd age of middle of Earth and the rise of Mondor.

And as to the political drama, the Dwarf and Elf storyline took a while to get there, but it finally coming around. And I loved seeing Galadriel call the queen out on her bullshit. Like you old blind bitch. If you could see your own soldiers' faces, you could see that no ship from your city will EVER sail back to Middle Earth. You keep talking that stupid shit and they might throw you overboard before you make it back.

They should definitely have less Harfoot shenanigans next season. Or no Harfoots at all. That works too.

For 8 seasons, Cersei was fucking her own family members... and also Euron Greyjoy.

But Alicent has remained faithful to ONE MAN... and gave him 2 heirs... and a babygirl. Without ever cheating on him. Not once, so far.

Meanwhile, Rhaenyra is sleeping with her own family members & acting like a Royal Thot.
And she fucking Bouncer after Bouncer at the club.

So the reality is... Rhaenyra is the only person who is actually turning into Cersei Lannister.

King Viserys is getting no passes over here. His failures as a father and weakness as a king is the center of the show. He should have saw Otto Hightower's bullshit from his grandfather's reign. First she plays bedmaid to the old man then to the greiving husband. Ser Otto's plan should have been seen from miles away.

The King might have still married Alicent instead of the 12 year old, but also removed Otto and named Ser Corlys as Hand. That could have headed off a lot of unnecessary future tension. And he should have NEVER named Rhaenyra as his hier!

You call her Cersi and fair play, because she definitely has been a royal thot through two time jumps. But in term of the audience, I think she's going to be the series Daenerys.

Season 1 she watched her brother get roasted and said something cool.
Season 2 she plundered Qaoth, left the city leaderless, and sailed off.
Season 3 she freed/ or stole the Unsullied, murdered the masters, and burnt Astapor to the ground. And it looked cool.
After seasons 4 & 5 Yunkai & Meereen had it's temples burnt and half the city left on fire.

Then she want to Westero and had a really cool battle in the Reach on dragonback which finished when she ended a family line. Not to mention that the fields of the Reach are where most of the crops for the realm are grown. No telling how much damage her dragon and Dothraki did to the country's food source.

But then she burned down King's Landing and people said that shit came out nowhere.
She was normal Dany one episode and then instantly the Mad Queen with no build up.

And I'ma be over here like this bitch has been a terrible ruler once day. Dany was a court thot too let us not forget. Before she 'fell in love' with a nephew, she had two husbands and was openly fucking a sell sword. Who in the books is described as having purple braids. Everyone in her service and in the city knew the Queen was fucking the purple haired dancing clown with the sword. Just like Rhaenyra having Ser Harwin as her champion and openly around her children.

I don't care how many cool scenes Rhaenyra and Daemon have or bad ass quotable they drop. They would make terrible rulers. Like Dany before them, I fear people are going to cheer all the cool looking thing they say and do, and then be sorely disappointed in the end. George RR Martin has a track record with dragon riders who look cool but don't last long sitting on the throne.
