Ya'll caught the TRUMP diss in the FIRST after credits scene right?

"Wakanda will no longer watch from the shadows. We cannot. We must not. We will work to be an example of how we as brothers and sisters on this Earth should treat each other. Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe."

Nah, when the general told Killmonger right before they went at it, "your heart is full of hate and you're unfit to be a king ..."

I peeped the CAC's next to me and they were shook.

I was feeling proud af.

I understand what y'all saying but if a man kills innocent people, no matter what the motivation is. He is a villain.
He cannot be right. If he does it repeatedly, then he is evil.

Magneto is a villain. Let's be real about that.
Killmonger has a point but he is a villain.
Loki is a villain. (Remember he had a point too. He was lied to all his life).

Yeah, he was willing to kill anybody, at any cost, to get what he wanted from or for his people. General Zod loved his people too, and was willing to kill anybody, including his own, for his mission to create a new Krypton. They are both villains.

Killmonger is the white man's worse nightmare, young, black, and don't give a fuck. When I was younger, if able, I would have probably had the same approach and mentality. Take it back, like they took it from us.

'Black Panther' Delivers Fifth Largest Opening of All-Time, Heading Toward $218M+ 4-Day Debut
by Brad Brevet

February 18, 2018

Dominating the weekend and delivering one of the largest opening weekends of all-time, Disney and Marvel's Black Panther topped the President's Day weekend box office, outperforming its nearest competitor by nearly $175 million based on estimates. As a result, fellow new wide releases were left in the dust with both Lionsgate's Early Man and PureFlix's Samson struggling in the low single digits. The weekend did, however, have other notable performances such as Sony's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which became the studio's second highest grossing domestic release of all-time, and Fox's The Greatest Showman, which has now topped $150 million at the domestic box office.

Atop the weekend box office with an estimated $192 million for the three-day weekend, Black Pantherdelivered the fifth largest three-day domestic opening in history and is currently expected to finish around $218 million for the four-day holiday weekend. The performance is also the largest February opening of all-time, the largest President's Day weekend opening of all-time and gives Disney eight of the top ten domestic openings of all-time. Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Panther is the eighteenth release in the franchise and the ninth to open with over $100 million. It's also the second largest opening in the MCU, behind only The Avengers($207.4m) and topping the $191 million debut for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

From an audience standpoint, Black Panther received an "A+" CinemaScore and played to an audience that was 55% male vs. 45% female, of which 61% were over the age of 25.

Internationally, Black Panther brought in an estimated $169 million from 48 markets for a global, three-day debut of $361 million, the fifteenth largest global opening weekend of all-time. The film managed this feat despite not debuting in China (March 9), Japan (March 1) or Russia, where the film will open next weekend along with Vietnam, Trinidad, Peru and Venezuela. Overall, South Korea leads all markets where the film brought in an estimated $25.3 million followed by the UK ($24.8m), Mexico ($9.6m), Brazil ($9.4m) and Australia ($9.2m).

Did u see the movie?

He got some heroic screen time considering he took a bullet for Malia (Lupita Nyong'o) and shot down the planes loaded with vibranium attempting to leave Wakanda to make arms deals. Not an "insignificant role" regarding the plot.

He took a bullet for her...and then had to be saved by them. He couldn't comprehend the tech they had. He was SILENCED when he was with the mountain tribe and made the court jester and SHURI had to basically hold his hand WHILE FIGHTING in order for him to shoot those planes down

she even said "I made it americanized so you can fly it" translation you not ready for our sophisticated way of doing thing so here is the flying for dummies so you can do your 1 job.

In an special ABC News feature about the recently released Black Panther, Kevin Feige recalled the moment he first saw the film in its entirety.
"The movie finished, and I looked over at Ryan, I said, 'that's the best movie we've ever made.'"

"Clearly you have anticipation from an audience that has never seen themselves portrayed like this before," he said. Addressing some of the film's political undertones, Feige added, "Circumstances in the world have changed drastically since we started working on this movie four years ago. It was relevant then. I think it's more relevant now."

I'm not familiar with this guy. Is he a black male Tomi Lauren?

Do the same tensions exist between West Indians (and Afro-Latinos) and continental Africans as exists between us (Black Americans) and Africans?

Hate to say it but I agree with you here. Especially Tone. I used to watch his vids because he was approaching things from a more academic perspective and using empirical data. But he starting name-dropping the same articles and same academics in every vid, and has almost turned into another Boyce. Just another pop culture commentator.

This is how I felt. Even though the character was underwritten and to a degree, I expected more from his performance. An orphan from a royal African bloodline who'd grown up in the American ghetto but graduated early MIT and went on to become a trained assassin, all while carrying a huge chip on his shoulder?! A more talented actor would have eaten that role alive. Imagine a young Wesley Snipes or Isaiah Washington in that role? Hell, even Larenz Tate.

Point taken, and I think that would have worked if the Killmonger character had only grown up in the hood knowing he was Wakandan royalty. But, with an MIT education, being a trained assassin, and also being conscious of the global black struggle, I expected a better performance. More depth.

I want a Prequel and Alternate version shot from Killmongers P.O.V. or at least a graphic Illustration with voiceover by the main characters. I want to see the Wardogs hidden in plain sight all over the world. There is so much more potential to make the movie franchise as successful as Captain America or Iron Man. I want a reboot like Spiderman every 10 years.

I want them to do Bills treatment
He killed Zuri because Zuri is the one who snitched on his father and eventually led him to his death.
What was he right about?
Let's flip it.
We don't know anything about Wakanda.
The story starts with little Erik playing basketball and then something doesn't feel right he goes upstairs and finds his loving father who promised him the world basically dead. He has panther marks on him which he knows because he read up on his father's home land. After that he is dealt a tough life, poor, struggling, but highly intelligent. Goes to M.I.T. joins the military to see the world and finds out he has a knack for killing. A real one. The pain he felt the day his father died never went away and he's reminded of it every time he's in battle and especially at night when he's alone. He learns more and more about his family and their history to the point he is an expert. He links up with someone who is a peace offering of sorts that would allow him to finally return to the home land he never knew. He gets there and the son of the man who killed his father is sitting on the throne.

Does he have a legit reason to hate them? lol

Excellent catch.

oh...I'm confused as to who you were saying she betrayed. I didn't really see her betraying the throne either way. She was loyal to the throne regardless of who sat on it, as she said. When she thought T'Challa was dead, she served Killmonger. When she saw T'Challa alive and realized the challenge wasn't over, she was with him because he was still the rightful king until the challenge ended. The scene where T'Challa appeared alive, she didn't switch up til she saw him.

At the showing you went to...

How did the mask go?

Were there white folks up in there?

A lot of costumes?

Did the sisters show out?

Was the theater sold out?

How many times you planning on going?

It was sold out fully there were some people dressed up
I was the showstopper though. I walked in with the mask and that was all she wrote.
Those who didn't know the movie were scared as fuck of the mask lol grown ass men.. 1 dude just said it... "man that's a scary ass mask" couple of people moved out of my way. people took pictures and stuff.

We were waiting in line to get in and security told this one cat with a black panther mask on to take it off.
And then he started to walk towards me and I looked right at him, and from outside the mask it just looks like a creepy psycho looks at you dead right at you while you're approaching him and the security shook his head like "nah" and let me keep the mask on lol

Which keeps bringing home my point about ol boy.
It was after everything was already in motion and done that we can say he turned "against" anyone. All of it was done. The ships were literally leaving wakanda as the KING had ordered.
And everyone is acting like he was conspiring to do it from jump. he was not.
he just didn't magically go back another way when it was time to fight.

Shit, T'Challa himself asked for help because he knew he couldn't just WALK IN THERE and all of these "loyal" people would just be like ok fuck you Erik though you are technically king or we thought you were or whatever.

Or, even when they brought him to Wakanda, and Shuri smurks, "Yeah, another white boy to fix." or whatever she said. Like, in our world, we do the saving...not the other way around.
