What would ever make you believe that killmonger would ever take orders from ANYONE again?

He died fulfilling his mission

Not in the way he wanted which was wrong in execution but noble in spirit

But he made T'Calla a BETTER king

who is trying to impliment much of what Erik dreamed of.

There is a strength in that.

He told you on the train tracks..he was driven to tears...people took everything from him....he's had to navigate through life on his own...he's never had a real family...thats all dude wanted was to not be seen as an outcast and to help every one worldwide..not just wakandans...

Alright...

I saw the movie friday. I had a busy weekend and I just now have literally read this entire thread. I have to keep it real.

I was disappointed with Black Panther. I am a life long BP fan. (have the entire 90's run of the comic) I am also a Coogler Fan. I loved Creed. That to me is creme de la creme film making.

BP was not creme de la creme film making.

It was an OKAY movie. There are so many things Coogler has already done that he could have done here. I had planned on seeing this movie twice last weekend. I ended up just buying another couple some tickets. My girl also felt the same way.

I appreciate the representation and the writing. But overall the movie fell flat to me.

I will see it again. But for me this is not the greatest movie ever or even the best MCU movie ever.

I was blown away by Creed. I was not blown away by BP.
Another one

Keep me coming

Please

BOOM!!!!

The pain...

I think no matter the monster he was

We black people

IDENTIFY WITH that PAIN

and T'Challa NEEDED to see that.

Cause he didn't couldn't know

Now he does

AND now we all do

they couldn't be invaded because they cloaked the country...in order to be included in the UN theyd have to show their true selves..

the whole monopoly on violence thing hinges on major support and alliance with others...other african countries would be jealous and angry they didn't share their tech in the first place..(come to think of it Tchalla holds a conference at the UN rather than a pan african alliance group..hmmm?) You wanna know how europe colonized africa? In fighting and siding with them over their own.
As far as vibranium is concerned all of their tech is reliant on it and once even a fraction of that knowledge is out the world will demand they share it on a larger scale.
they were already members of the UN (Civil War...)

in this universe, Wakandan tech utilizing vibranium is superior to even Tony Starks' weapons

with out allies they can still hold a monopoly on violence if they chose to

Allies can only exist in some form if there is parity of force, lacking that the ally is really only a vassal
(eg: Carthage, Rome, Napoleonic France, Germany, Japan...)

addressing the UN was a greeting and a warning...

consider in the comics, Latveria and Wakanda are 2 countries no nation or SHIELD etc fucks with or has any success trying to invade with force

I am NOT the one to debate on this movie,

I just realized that.

If anyone didn't like it?

Keep that shit to yourself

Matter of fact outside healthy debate...

If anyone just didn't like it or coming in with all this community college film class analysis...

Take that over there way over there.

Fucking up my happy after the couple of months I just had?

I'm about to see this again just off gp.

Didn't catch the foreshadowing but that makes perfect sense to me. I did notice all other aspects. My boy sent me a clip about 20 hidden meanings in the movie and in the clip, the speaker suggested that maybe T'Challa will keep Killmonger in some sort of stasis OR since Killmonger was a panther that ingested the herb, T'Challa can call forward Bast to speak with Killmonger since they are now always connected through their blood and the Panther god.

that's exactly what will happen.
but also like i told my boy. peep. Killmonger got himself up when taking the herb. he rose himself up from the grave.
just something to think about

I mentioned the fact that the herb ritual is a Masonic ritual that's connected with the Nile valley through the goddess Bast.

Here you can actually see her sitting on the square between the two great pillars. Killmonger is the only one who raised himself and this is significant.

I disagree

He was like a perfect Greek myth or African folk tale.

Beginning middle end.

You REALLY don't want to see some redemption

You really want a chance for this character to be messed up in any way?

He isn't bucky, he isn't loki.

He died how he lived.

And he sent a message and his sacrifice will resonate in each film.

I'm good I appreciate greatness.

I don't want a prequel spin off rebirth

He was born he lived he died...

And that story to me at least lives on.

Dudes in here gonna be first n line to say he wack watered down over exposed etc etc in a ny minute.

Saw it for a 2nd time today.....

Once Killmonger kills Klaue until his death he dominates the film in every aspect. When he tells T'Challa to ask him his name was the most powerful scene in the film (very similar to when Maximus tells Commodus who he is at the end of Gladiator)

When N'Jobu asks Killmonger "no tears for me" in the astral plane and he says "everyone dies around here" his fathers response was heartbreaking "I should have taken you from this place long time ago"

Just got back from seeing it again. Just realized that KillMonger daddy was talking to him at the beginning of the movie. Its like watching it again realizing that it seems like the movie is really about him and him finding his way to Wakanda. T'Kala daddy the king was talking about he trained him to be a king one day but the movie doesn't show him teaching him and you see how he says he wasn't ready. Yeah KillMonger daddy trained him from day 1 about who he is and Wakanda etc. Just my thoughts

It was heartbreaking. But even in that sequence his younger self was cynical N'Jobu says his line, Adult Erik WISHES he had. He wishes he had so he could be with that family and his dad could be in the ancestral plane where he belonged. That moment was captured with 1 single tear which he wiped away to stay on mission.

and marvel's penchant for killing off a decent villain continues:smh::smh:

for all the universe building these dude have NO IDEA how to set up a decent NEMESIS :smh:

You cannot let Killmonger live.

Nope.

And he died such a noble death essentially by his own hand. And that speech. He didn't BLAME T'Challa for all this...that what was so damn powerful

It was the colonizers.

And if he returns "alive"?

IT cheapens it

You can't invoke the Middle Passage and do some comic book resurrection.

No f*cking way.

But they might bring him back, its a good chance.

Cuz look, Killmonger ingested the heart shape herb that gave him the Panther powers. The same heart shape herb Shuri gave Tchalla to bring him out of the near death coma. So that means the heart shape herb has regenerative abilities. So the damage to Killmongers body may have been minimal. If Tchall can survive the fall from the waterfall after being stripped of the Panther powers, on default status Killmonger gotta be alive.

This explanation would fit with the comic books story of Killmonger coming back after death.

Marvel needs the Killmonger character and with Hollywoods reputation of resurrecting old shit lol Im betting on a comeback.

Wakanda Forever!!...:yes::yes:

Like i say, Marvel Stays Winning!!
Dude, I just saw it for the fifth time today. So fucking awesome.

It still isn't old yet.

After the second viewing I realized that the story doesn't even begin with a black panther. It doesn't begin with T'Challa. It begins with N'Jobu and N'Jadaka aka Eric Killmonger. Not too many stories about superheroes begin with "the bad guy"

Young Killmonger looked like he could be related to Michael B Jordan - he wasn't, but he looked like he could be (I liked how they did like they did with Young T'Chakka was the real-life son of the older T'Chakka who died in Civil War).

It just feels like a really good roller coaster ride at an amusement park

you aint got to explain yourself to that mafugga.

we all saw what happened.

say mayne...what was up with that snow? cause i never heard of medicinal snow.
Medicinal snow? :roflmao3: bro you got me dying laughing over here

Medicinal snow. Cold actually retards the dying process. Ric Flair's life was just saved from a medically-induced coma. It works the same way, just naturally.

Think of it as semi-cryofreeze. You take the molecules and you slow them down to the point where they're barely moving

Medicinal snow:roflmao: you own the internet for the night bro. You own the motherfuking internet I'm still laughing my ass off

'Black Panther' breakout Shuri crowned the best Disney princess by social media

Move over, Cinderella. There’s a new princess in town, and she’s wearing sneakers. Black Panther, which smashed box-office records this past weekend, introduced audiences to the royal family of Wakanda, a fictional African nation more technologically advanced (and impeccably accessorized) than any on earth. Prince T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is the title character, next in line for the throne after the death of his father in Captain America: Civil War. But it’s his younger sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright), who’s making waves all over the internet, as it dawns on fans that the teenage tech genius is a real Disney princess.

Let’s talk about why this is a big deal. For one thing, there have been only two black Disney princesses in the 81 years since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. That’s counting Kida Nedakh, the princess in the largely forgotten 2001 animated feature Atlantis: The Lost Empire (voiced by Cree Summer, who played Freddie on A Different World). The more prominent example is Tianafrom 2009’s The Princess and the Frog, a member of the official Disney princess canon/merchandising juggernaut. Although she was presented as a hardworking restaurateur with the heavenly voice of Anika Noni Rose, Tiana is transformed into a frog for the majority of the film. Mothers going to The Princess and the Frog hoping their black daughters would finally see a princess who looked like them were instead presented with the adventures of a bizarrely skinny amphibian.

Letitia Wright as Shuri in her laboratory in Black Panther (Photo: Matt Kennedy/Marvel/Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures/courtesy Everett Collection)
Shuri, on the other hand, is fully herself, all the time. Born to royalty, in a society that sees black women as leaders and warriors, she has limitless self-confidence. And she has earned that confidence by being amazing at everything. This is a girl whose inventions and technological savvy blow Tony Stark out of the water. She designed an ecofriendly high-speed train system for Wakanda, a bulletproof Black Panther suit that can be stored inside a necklace, and medical technology to heal severe wounds overnight. It’s work for the betterment of her people, and work in which she clearly takes joy.

On top of that, she’s the most runway-ready character in Wakanda, rocking urban-casual fashions that would turn heads on the streets of New York City. When she’s in her full warrior mode, she accessorizes with laser-shooting gloves (that she definitely designed) and a headdress made from animal jawbones. This is a princess who knows who she is, and isn’t afraid to show the world.

297fa7dcf313b927089b3e4a95a09996

Letitia Wright as Shuri in warrior princess mode in Black Panther (Photo: Marvel/Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures/courtesy Everett Collection)
Not least of all, Shuri has a sharp sense of humor, something that has been notably lacking in the history of Disney royalty (sorry, Sleeping Beauty). Quick with a comeback to undercut her brother, or a sarcastic quip for Martin Freeman’s CIA agent (“Is this Wakanda?” he asks. “No, it’s Kansas,” she replies), she’s a keen and witty observer of the world around her. And anyone who designs a pair of self-fastening shoes as an homage to Back to the Future II understands when it’s time to take herself less seriously.

The best part of all? As readers of the Black Panther comics already know, and the rest of the world is just figuring out, Shuri is next in line to be Black Panther. The book Marvel’s Black Panther: The Art of the Movie includes concept art of Shuri in the Black Panther costume. By the time the sequel arrives, Shuri will likely be both a princess and a superhero. Wonder Woman, watch your back.

And yes, “Disney princess” is an increasingly meaningless moniker, since that royal title is no longer the endgame of all its female heroines. (Remember Moana’s insistence that she wasn’t a princess?) The “official” Disney princess canon hasn’t been updated since 2012, meaning it doesn’t include Shuri, nor does it include Moana, Frozen‘s Anna and Elsa, or Princess Leia. Still, the fairy-tale princess has a deep hold on girls’ collective imagination, thanks in large part to those Disney classics. A princess like Shuri offers young audience members a whole new set of aspirations. She breaks the mold, reassembles the pieces, and uses them to make the world a better place. All hail.

But Eric gave a speech invoking the mass murder of our ancestors

To bring him back to me is offensive

AND Lessens THE impact.

We had kids crying, in shock, confused asking REAL questions about the middle passage

Ya'LL up hear criticizing the film

For not doing ENOUGH?

AND the one thing they gave the exact amount of?

You wanna water down.

Ok. Gotcha.

FWIW, I did not make this list. :smh: I simply copy/pasted it from the article.
Looks like the Author probably abandoned the 'strict chronology' after Phase 2... and Phase 3 is just listed in order, by release date. :dunno:

Btw, not sure if you read the article, from the link... but the Author says at the beginning:

"For newcomers to superhero movies — perhaps those who have become absorbed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) following Black Panther — the amount of watching material can be overwhelming. But for those wanting to persevere, there are TWO watching orders.

(1) Really, you should probably watch these movies in release order, starting the journey starting with Iron Man — one of the best MCU instalments to date — moving onto The Incredible Hulk, then Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, finishing Phase One with Avengers. This order works well with post-credit scenes all setting up the next movie and has the intended rhythm formed by producer Kevin Feige.

(2) However, many fans have taken to watching the series in chronological order.

(the article continues...)

Phase Three marks some of the best MCU movies so far, but also some timeline bending difficulties. For instance, Doctor Strange begins before Civil War, but finishes after Civil War.... Also, Black Panther and Spider-Man both take place directly after Civil War, while Ragnarok and Panther directly lead up the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

Below’s just a guide for a manageable way of watching based mainly on release order.

(Then the Phase 3 movies are listed after the sentence above)
