What Lupin's English Voice Cast Really Look Like
Netflix localizes its French series with an English-language voice cast that generally fits the physical description of the show's main characters.

The hit Netflix series Lupin features an additional cast that dubs the French crime drama for English-speaking territories and surprisingly, they look as you'd imagine. Debuting on Netflix in January 2021, Lupin quickly became the first French program to crack the streaming platform’s American market top 10 list. Despite the series’ foreign production, English-speaking audiences are not required to read subtitles across the bottom of the screen. Instead, Netflix has employed a series of English-speaking actors to voice Lupin’s main characters, actors that generally fit the physical description of the characters they voice.

The French Netlix series Lupin follows professional thief Assane Diop as he plots to avenge the death of his father, Babakar, a former chauffeur and butler for the wealthy Hubert Pellegrini. Babakar dies in prison after Hubert frames him for the theft of an expensive diamond necklace, one that pops up at auction twenty-five years later. Inspired by a book about gentleman thief Arsène Lupin, Assane uses his charisma and mastery of thievery, subterfuge, and disguise to expose Hubert’s crimes and clear Babakar’s name. Similar to its protagonist, the Netlfix series itself draws inspiration from the adventures of French author Maurice Leblanc’s famous literary character, Arsène Lupin.

Netflix has investment considerable time and money into dubbing, or localizing, its content into dozens of languages, a research-backed strategy seeking to capitalize on public demand. The English-language cast for Lupin never appear on screen, but audiences may recognize their voices from these past film and television productions.
Austin Warren - Voice Of Assane Diop
Austin Warren is an actor, comic, and musician from Chicago who previously appeared in Hot Tub Time Machine as a member of Nick’s band.
Austin Warren voices Lupin’s Assane Diop, the dapper Parisian thief obsessed with exposing a potential conspiracy and clearing his father’s name.
Lindsay Seim - Voice Of Claire
Lindsay Seim is an actor and writer whose film credits include Insidious: Chapter 2, Blackbird, St. Agatha, and American Dream. She made her acting debut in the television series Charmed and appeared in Adult Swim’s Decker. Lindsay also wrote and co-starred in A Wakefield Project.
Lindsay Seim voices Lupin’s Claire, the ex-wife of Assane Diop who still harbors feelings for her former husband despite his unhealthy obbession.
Betsy Brandt - Voice Of Juliette Pellegrini
Betsy Brandt has appeared in a number of television series, including The Michael J. Fox Show, Parenthood, Life in Pieces, Pearson, and The Unicorn, but she’s perhaps best known for her recurring role as Maria Schrader in Breaking Bad. Brandt’s film credits include Shelf Life, Anywhere with You, and Magic Mike. She’s previously voiced characters for the television series Axe Cop and American Dad!
Betsy Brandt voices Lupin’s Juliette Pellegrini, the daughter of Babakar’s former employer, Hubert Pellegrini. Juliette is attracted to Assane despite the threat he poses to her wealthy family.
Michael Bofshever - Voice Of Gabriel Dumont
Michael Bofshever’s previous television credits include The Jersey, 24, Desperate Housewives, True Blood, and Breaking Bad. He reprises his role as Jesse’s father, Mr. Pinkman, in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. Other film credits include United 93 and A Dog’s Purpose.
Michael Bofshever voices Lupin’s Gabriel Dumont, a Paris Regional Police lieutenant who investigates Babakar for the theft of the diamond necklace.

The first five episodes of Lupin, Netflix's breakout French hit, may have ended on a huge cliffhanger, but now fans will know about how long they'll have to wait for the resolution. The streaming service announced on Thursday that "Part 2" of Lupin will arrive this summer.
Lupin stars Omar Sy as Assane Diop, a man who takes inspiration from the fictional gentleman thief Arsène Lupin to commit a high-level robbery in order to get revenge on Hubert Pellegrini, the rich and powerful man who drove Diop's Senegalese immigrant father to suicide by framing him for a crime he didn't commit.
Part 2 of Lupin will consist of an additional five episodes. Episodes 6 and 7 will be directed by Ludovic Bernard, while episodes 8, 9, and 10 will be directed by Hugo Gélin. Check out the cool teaser art below.
