I watched this last night on the road on tubi, I watched and reviewed the first two earlier last month in this thread.

The story picks up a few months after the last with Elizabeth finding a new family. Then it jumps ahead a few months and she has found another family to finish out the film. That new family has its own issues which puts a little spin on Elizabeth’s crazy plans.

The movie starts out with Elizabeth in Bat Shit Crazy mode and continues thruout the film unlike the last two. Actress Erica Mena does a decent job with the Bat Shit Crazy for her character.

Also, this is the first film where they have Erica in tight, form fitting clothes highlighting her body. She has a “Jessica Rabbit” cartoonish figure on her with a large booty that pokes out promptly.

The acting with the supporting actors is lousy, but works here being it’s a Hood Film. Some characters from the prior two films come back for this film.

We get detailed information on Elizabeth’s past on why she is Bat Shit Crazy in this film, how truthful she is, that is still unknown.

The film leaves off for another sequel, but introduces a different character that looks to add a twist to Elizabeth and her craziness.

There is a Stepdaughter film put out by Marquee. Not sure if I will watch it. If I do, I will review it later.

Synopsis

Elizabeth Carter will again stop at nothing to find her perfect family, but her dangerous past catches up to her when the families she’s ruined seek to put an end to her terror.

I watched this last night on the road on Hulu. It’s a Sci-Fi thriller that plays out like a psychological character drama.

The trailer makes it seem there is non-stop action, it’s far from it. It’s a slow-burn film mainly dealing with the 3 primary characters handling the situation they are under.

Not much for VFX/SFX, the space scenes do look good.

If you enjoy character dramas, you will like it.

Synopsis

Following a catastrophe on Earth, the planet is covered in a toxic fog. The crew in the space station, must decide whether to risk their lives to get home and search for survivors, or stay safe in the station's "algae symbiosis system".

Me and the sons watched this one tonight on Disney+.

I had never heard of the film or was aware of it. It came out during the Pandemic, so it’s why I probably didn’t know it was out. I was aware of it cuz it’s listed with the other X-Men films when I pull them up on my cable box.

The characters in the film I’m not familiar with, I will assume they are characters currently in the comics. The film plays out more like a psychological thriller than a regular superhero flick. The whole film takes place in an Asylum. It looks to take place between the last X-Men film and before Logan.

It’s a slow burn film, there isn’t any fight scenes with the characters doing whatever they do. It makes reference to Charles Xavier/X-Men for a quick minute, that’s about it.

I looked it up, the film bombed at the box office making less than what it cost to produce it, slim chance there will be a sequel. The characters might make cameos in future projects. The film was green lit and produced prior to Disney purchasing 20th Century FOX.

Synopsis

Five teenage mutants -- Mirage, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot and Magik -- undergo treatments at a secret institution that will cure them of their dangerous powers. Invited by Dr. Cecilia Reyes to share their stories, their memories soon turn into terrifying realities as they start to question why they're being held and who's trying to destroy them.

Knox Goes Away

Slickly Surprising

PRAISE: There is something so entertaining and appealing about movies with plots about old school hitman, thieves and gangsters. That one last job right before or at the start of them losing their touch. Knox Goes Away is all of that and then some. Nicely directed by and Starring Michael Keaton who turns in a moving performance. Great turns from a who's who in Hollywood cast including James Marsden, Suzy Nakamura, Joanna Kulig, Ray McKinnon, John Hoogenakker, Lela Loren, Marcia Gay Harden, and Al Pacino
As jazzy tunes play in the background the film plays out in a way that is calming but with explosions of violence. It's written in a way that I immediately cared for Knox and what he was going through. The loose ends and regrets in life are written all over his face and when presented with a couple of tricky situations he's sees it as a way to get some type of revenge for betrayal and to make things right which plays out in an interesting and involving way.

PROBLEMS: There are a couple of predictable turns. There is a really big unintentionally funny moment...but then again maybe it's a good thing.

Scale of 1 to 10 an 8

Monkey Man

Manic Monkey

PRAISE: This story about loss, revenge and enlightenment works for the most part due to some great performances and well choreographed fight scenes. The story is about Kid who attempts to make money in a fight club but determined to infiltrate a sinister group to avenge his mother's death. Dev Patel turns in an unflinching performance as well as writing, producing, and Directing the film. His script provides a little bit of everything as Kid plots his revenge but also finds himself face to face with colorful characters portrayed by Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma,Sobhita Dhulipala and Ashwini Kalsekar. There's nothing quite like the salty dialogue in the film when its said with an Indian tongue. There's some very intense fighting and I can see why Patel broke some bones while filming and being a part of these sequences. I appreciated the unique kills in the movie.

PROBLEMS: The political sections of the story felt jumbled to me.While I appreciated and understood the placement of the Ayahuasca and getting in touch with your spiritual side, training moments in the movie but this is also when the movie starts to stall and the script feels a bit to drawn out.

I had last seen this flick just before the sequel “Tron: Legacy” had come out back in 2010 to refresh. If you don’t know, there is a “Tron: Ares” in production and scheduled for a 2025 release. My sons had not seen the first one, I had taken them to the theater to see the 2nd, they were only interested at the time cuz they were watching some animated Tron cartoon on DisneyXD at the time. Being they were young and I am old now, we decided to watch both films back to back this past Monday night on Disney+.

The film is a cult classic for bringing a popular video game to the big screen in live action. The film was close to following the arcade game play in how it was presented.

VFX/SFX at the time was mind blowing with them using what at the time was advanced CGI. VFX/SFX looks dated today but still holds up to what other Sci-Fi had come out in the era. It was interesting hearing them refer to the Grid as a system, today it would be referred to as “Artificial Intelligence”, the term and concept wasn’t on anyone’s radar at the time this film came out.

While watching, my kids quickly spotted the Pac-Man Easter Egg that was put in that a lot of people missed when it had its theatrical debut.

Synopsis

When talented computer engineer Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) finds out that Ed Dillinger (David Warner), an executive at his company, has been stealing his work, he tries to hack into the system. However, Flynn is transported into the digital world, where he has to face off against Dillinger's computerized likeness, Sark, and the imposing Master Control Program. Aided by Tron (Bruce Boxleitner) and Yori (Cindy Morgan), Flynn becomes a freedom fighter for the oppressed programs of the grid.

Tron: Legacy
2010

7/10

We watched this one immediately after watching the first one.

The story picks up in the current time with Kevin Flynn’s son who is now an adult and helps rescue his father from the Grid.

VFX/SFX had greatly improved from the original. Age regression effects for Kurt Russell looked sketchy but it was still in its infancy, you could see how well Disney advanced in the recent Indiana Jones film.

The story pace was ok at the beginning but slowed down once Sam reunited with his father.

It somewhat set things up for a sequel, we will see what happens in “Tron: Legacy” next year where they go with the story.

Looking forward to the next film.

I stumbled upon a VHS titled film and discovered this film is part of a franchise with 6 films.

So I decided to watch the first one tonight on Hulu.

It’s an anthology, found footage film with 6 stories. One story is broken up and shown thru the film in interludes between the other stories.

All the stories are interesting and have nice little twists at the end of each one.

It has graphic violence thruout. There is some female nudity including hairy bush.

For the Foot Fiends, there is one scene giving a good view of WW soles/toes.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, there is Lesbian with PDA between a WW/WW.

The last story involving a haunted house has to be the best supernatural visuals I have seen shown. It’s a quick high speed scene and I was truly impressed on how it looked with the visuals when the scenes played in the haunted house.

Synopsis

Four thugs who make money putting their violent antics online are hired to steal a VHS tape from a spooky old house. However, things take a turn for the worse when they find a dead pensioner and dozens more tapes.
