Best part of experience for me was choppin it up with a older Native American dude after about him growing up with SHAFT and Pam Grier (who he couldn’t mentioned without making the sign of the cross lmfao!). He definitely liked the flick more than me but was on same page about its weaknesses. For him like the rest of the audience - small but nothing but folks of color! - it was mostly about the representation and supporting the efforts… honoring the work for what it IS and the drive and commitment sacrifice etc to get it done, fully expecting more and better work to come.

Don't expect the trailer, because the trailer isn't the movie. Whoever made the trailer, needs to make a movie. It's action, but it's not John Wick or The Raid action. I mention that, because you can tell it's inspired by movies like Old Boy, The Raid and John Wick. They attempt the one take action scene that's popular now.

Also if you're anti faggot, stay away.

I liked it, but it had some things that I don't like excessively in movies...shaky cam and flashbacks. That shit was overdone. I know it was done to hide the fighting, but it was overdone. And the flashbacks, I hate movies that do teaser flashbacks until they give you the real flashback that's most necessary to the story.

It got slow at times, and seemed to explain and go into detail about the wrong things. Also it could have used more subtitles for some of the heavy accents.

Overall, it was a pretty good and enjoyable movie for a first time director, that could have been done better with more experience.

I actually saw this mofo when it came out in theaters as a kid. It basically was a knockoff trying to cash in on the success of “Star Wars”, but failed. I watched it last night on the road on tubi.

Everything that can make a movie bad, this film has it. Not much more can be said.

It is an entertaining film mainly cuz it looks cheap and ridiculous. Spacecraft look like they were made from Lego’s. If you ever build a model, when you break the pieces from the trees, they used those trees as parts to all the spaceships in the film. They sprayed painted the ships and actually used the empty spray paint cans as parts of the ships. Pure Comedy.

David Hassellhoff has a small role. He did this film before getting his breakthrough role with “Knight Rider”. Christopher Plummer guest stars. I think they were trying to use him the way George Lucas used Alec Guinness.

This film is considered a Sci-Fi cult classic, mainly cuz it’s so corny.

An outlaw smuggler and her alien companion are recruited by the Emperor of the Galaxy to protect Earth from the evil Count Zarth Arn.
