Pro tip #4. Buy the spinner lure from the bait shop. Its 3 gold bar and works with all fish in the game. Unbreakable and usually gets a bite after a few seconds.
Also grab the off hand holster early for around 3 gold bars. The second holster unlocks around lvl 23 but you can get it early with the gold unlock.

I'm only level 16. Can I buy it now or do I have to wait until it unlocks for me? I've got 35 gold bars. I'm sick of only catching these tiny ass pickerel and rock bass
You can unlock it early now. Since it works with EVERY fish there's no guarantee you're going to catch the fish you want to catch. Its better that you go to the correct area to catch the specific fish you're looking for and use eagle eye to look for the larger fish before you cast.
No gold can be use to unlock everything or can be used to purchase a item thats normal currency is cash. But if you're unlocking it early with gold it will be at an increased price. Something that is lets say 2 gold bars to purchase at lvl 40. If you unlock it early then the unlock price will be increased to possibly 5 (more or less depending on the item).
As of 9:53am 12/15/18 there is a cougar that spawns just above the "H" in Cholla springs. There is a butcher not too far from there. A good one gives you $8.10. I don't have a rifle good enough to get a perfect one. This was about 4:15 in MrBossFTW video and it's supposedly spawns every couple minutes

That cougar spawn spot I posted still works. My only advice is to server jump until you find a empty server where no one is in Blackwater.
At your camp or wherever you buy clothes. Also you can set up a warm weather outfit at your camp and save it on your horse.

Yeah, another thing you can do is... If you run a Stranger mission that you have never run before... when the mission starts, it usually (automatically) puts you into an empty server, all by yourself.
You can complete the Stranger mission with no hassles, then go hunting / farming without any interference. Only random NPC Outlaw gangs & wild animals (predators) will attack you. Not griefers.NOTE >> Not every Stranger mission will put you into an empty server, but most of them will.
Especially if you don’t go back to the very same Stranger 2x in a row.

Another Pro Tip >> If you kill 3-star animals... skin them first & also take the skinned carcass.
You will get more money at the Butcher, for selling the perfect animal skin & for the perfect carcass & for the (individual) animal parts separately, instead of just selling the untouched carcass (whole).

they need to give you the option of entering solo/friends only lobbies like GTA
Another Pro Tip >> If you don’t want to spend over $400+ dollars on a high quality (Carcano) Sniper Rifle... you can buy a cheaper Bolt Rifle and put a scope on it. So you can use it as a regular rife, AND use it as a Sniper Rifle by pressing down on the d-pad to zoom in/out. It will be handy until you can afford to buy a better Sniper Rifle.

ya I haven’t gotten into it...GTA online for me was a completely new experience as far as multiplayer goes...so far I’m not hearing about anything new being brought to the table other than the setting/time period...and I didn’t anticipate this but I don’t think the setting is conducive to as fun a multiplayer experience as GTA online was...I was really looking forward to a better last man standing mode
