There is a movie she says she working on where she plays someone's gf..and its a LGBTQ-themed movie
Of all the shows I watch, Snowfall, The Mandolarian, Wu Tang, etc., Ellie is my favorite character right now. I lost myself and yelled out loud when she killed that sick rapist mother fucker.
I hope they make another season, or two, of this and rival The Walking Dead.

It's sad that we can't get shows that fully encapsulate the depth that is black people and the shows that are most popular among black people that have black people in them are largely negative.
The only popular show starring black people about black people that was both popular and successful that I can think about is Insecure, but those BMF, Power spin-off shows, and anything depicting black people in a negative light are wildly popular.
One of you said we only eat the food we're given. Many of us grew up eating shit food like Hot Pockets and ramen noodles. We couldn't afford filet mignon, and there are some of us who would never eat a Hot Pocket ever again
There are others of us who don't know any better and are either still living in or never grew out of the hot pocket stage.
Insecure was one of the few shows for the filet mignon black people. The intelligent, introspective folks who crave black people in all our various lights. We have so many stories that we could tell about us and they don't always involve being broke, or drugs or attempting to be a drug dealer
BMF is for the hot pocket black people and Hollywood caters more to those people than the rest of us. And unfortunately there are far more of the Hot Pocket black people than there are the one who progressed to filet mignon black people

Ellie does have a lot of depth, and the actress who plays her is pretty good as well.
Watching this show shows me what The Walking Dead could have been. It doesn't have to be an infected in every episode because the most dangerous being out there isn't the infected, it's the people.

The pay off of David being a sick fuck being brutally murdered can’t be executed as well if there isn’t extensive dialogue between characters.
This isn’t an all out action show. Everything has to be built up so if it has the potential to be lost, it actually means something.
Season finale next week and based on this episode, it should nail the landing i believe

Great episode, did the game justice. Hopefully they nail the ending, it's a lot left to fit in one hour, it should be packed.

One of my all time favorite characters, especially after last of us 2. If they adapt that game right we're all in for a treat.(they definitely need two seasons for part 2, much bigger story)

Look how people acted when there was a toilet paper shortage. The only thing missing is the Nazi groups. If shit hits the fan we would definitely have a race war.

The one part they fucked up... it's whatever ultimately since they got where the game was going and the series overall has been a very faithful adaptation, But I would have loved to see that section of the game come to life.
This is the most realistic depiction of how a person would react. In far too many horror movies, we see the victim hit the killer once, then run away. Who wouldn't kill the person that is trying to kill them, unless it's being used for some horrible writing to stretch a movie.
Too bad that wasn't the complaint about Bill's story. The gamers were upset about there not being the school fight, and the grifters were upset about gay stuff. Fan critiques are always going to have more substance than professional outrage seekers.
I’m a fan of the games. But I think the game fans online need to be more realistic. The pacing of a game and a show are completely different. The show adds context in places where the games don’t. They can’t put in every fight from the game because the show would just have action for no reason (see the Walking Dead).
Every time the infected appear in the show, something significant happens. They’re just not killing them to pad the run time. They serve a purpose for the story.
As it stands, the Bloater that emerged from the ground is the biggest threat in the show thus far. It wouldn’t appear to be as big of a threat if they were able to defeat it in a random battle.
The show is not perfect, but it’s very difficult to pin point anything I dislike.
It’s the best game adaptation by a mile (Castlevania is there too but that’s an anime)

I am very happy with the adaptation we got and I suggest anyone who even remotely likes the show to grab the PS5 remake of part one and check it out after the season (I like part 2 better but I could imagine people not wanting to spoil the story for the show)
Realistically the Sonic the Hedgehog movies are the 2nd best game adaptation ever, and that’s sad lol

Yeah those were pretty good, liked the second one a lot more since it featured less humans and knuckles lol I would put Arcane above those and cyberpunk edge runners as well but those are animated.
That new Mario movie might take the number two spot after last of us, that looks great.

in the game Joel slaughters the entire town but I guess they didn't want to make the main character a prolific psycho serial killer.
kinda like Nathan Drake in uncharted, on the one hand he's a tomb raiding wise cracking Lovable good guy, on the other hand by the end of uncharted 4 his body count is in the low thousands lol
