What a fucking idiot, besides the fact that the character wasn't even really Christian and turned out to be a people eating psycho who used the bible to unite those people in a time of need on some manson bullshit, is he really ignoring the amount of real life villains that have used the bible throughout history to enslave, to steal land, to rape and to pillage, and let's not even start on the Catholic church...There's a reason why it's a trope dumb fuck.
:smh:
Ps fuck him for doing black face

I liked it. It was a good watch. If I was Joel I would have done the same thing
I read they're considering a season 2. I hope they decide to do it.

I didn't finish the game yet. I'm still stuck on the part where he's in the university alone surrounded by infected and has to sneak out.
Ellie fixed a Broken Man. Losing his daughter broke him. It would break most people - man or a woman

And after so many years of being broken, Joel was brought back to life, back to giving a fuck again by a little girl... "I am not letting my little girl die again." That was his mindset.

Joel cursed himself over the past 20 years for not doing more to save his daughter, by not being proactive in Saving his daughter. In his mind, his being passive got his daughter killed.

He wasn't letting that shit happen again on his watch

You know that shit replayed in his mind. Him holding his daughter saying "we're not infected" and that Soldier shooting them anyway and killing his daughter.

We know that there wasn't shit he could do in that situation, but in his head he sees it a different way.

And every time he replays it he sees it like he could have done something, yet we know the truth.

You cross the country with a mother fucker and go through ridiculously hard shit you are either going to love each other at the end of the trip or hate the fuck outta each other (I've seen it in the military during deployments)

Good God damn episode.

That decision, if you were to put it on this board or open to the public:

What would you do if you were Joel: Sacrifice Ellie and take the chance that she is the cure for the world or go full Liam Neeson?

I'm curious what the results would be

If you're Joel, with everything you've seen, is that even a world that's worth saving?

You think just because a cure is found that world would go back to being civilized? Or would everyone continue being terrible but just wouldn't have to worry about the infected - just each other?

I wouldn't have risked Ellie either on a chance the cure might be found and on a chance people would do better.

Dude is like the pastor he wants her for himself.

She is a second chance at his daughter he never believed he would ever get.

You can't let that go. To want to die enough to actually pull the trigger and somebody, this person who was a stranger weeks ago gives your life back to you? Makes you want to live again? That you can relate to like your daughter?

And you are supposed to let that go for an "maybe it might work?"

Nah. Enter Liam Neeson

And then the question becomes,

“Is that his choice to make?”

The Fireflies were going to kill her without her consent. Neither asked her what she would’ve wanted. As much as people may give Joel shit because of his selfish decision, you really have to give Marlene shit because she was going to kill Ellie without talking with her about it. I would much rather be Joel in this case than Marlene. Could you live with knowing you killed Ellie(obviously for a cure in which you’re not sure could work) without her knowing she’s going to die? No one gave her a choice to die or not.

Foh. You're talking one inconsequential human life vs all of humanity. Its a no brainer. Even for Elle.. which is why Joel lied to her. Joel is the fucking villain of this story. His inability to reconcile losing his daughter has caused him to lose his fucking mind and doom all of mankind. Him choosing a personal relationship over civilization is literally insane.
