The power of intermittent fasting

Checking in checking in.

I was going to wait til May 2 to drop my status but fuck it. One month in and I’m down 11 lbs. The drop off rate slowed down like I expected but its all good.

Basically what I do is fast on Mon, Wed and Fri and on the other 4 days I do a 23:1. I started the 23:1 on the 15th. And I only worked out one time the whole month. Maybe when the gyms open back up, I’ll drop the M,W,F fast and do a full time 23:1.

Be back next mont...

One week in and I dropped 7 pounds before I yoyo'd 1.8 pound up, I don't expect that rate to keep up. I'm noticing with each day I fast I'm getting a little stronger. They say the first two weeks are the hardest and after that it feels normal. I didn't believe it at first but with one week in I can definitely see that happening. I think I can keep this up for a while.

My hours were cut at work so I get home earlier and eat earlier and man I see a difference..I don't eat after 6 or 7 pm. Not sure how much pounds but my gut is trimming down and I look slimmer.

Fucking covid19 got me on an unintended weight loss program. I also cut out all fast food since this virus shit so that's helping too.

Being off this past month has messed me all up, I’m scared to weigh myself. I started February 2019 weighing about 235, I‘d dropped down to about 193 by June, went back up to about 205 in August and maintained that same weigh up til this month, April 2020. I still eat my first meal at 2pm, meats and vegetables, but that 8pm meal is usually bad and then i’ll eat a dessert and 9pm and then a snack at 10:45pm. I still get my exercise in the morning but not really active after that, I have a 10000 step goal on my watch, I’ll get 8000 steps during workout but then won’t even get 2000 more steps the rest of the day to meet my goal. I went to weigh myself yesterday but the battery in my scale had died and I was kinda glad.lol...I’m gonna buckle down and get back on it Monday because I just got a email saying our shutdown was extended to May 15th

I'm doing an 20/4 fast atm. Only eating 2 low carb (high healthy fat) meals. Pretty doable for me. First 2-3 days were hard. But your body will adjust quickly.
Just make sure to stay hydrated; Water, Green Tea and black coffee are your best friends.
Lost 60 lbs before starting with IF. Hoping to lose the last 10-15 lbs while doing IF.

Soms tips:
- 2 teaspoons Apple Ciding Vinegar everyday, can help a lot during your weight loss journey.
- Cut ALL Sugars. I don't even eat fruit. Only Blueberries (because of the antioxidants). If you really can't live without sugar, eat a small piece of dark chocolate (the darker the better).
- Don't eat Red Meat everyday. The lesser meat the better. The only meat i eat is lean chicken (protein resource). If you want to cut out meat completely, try tempeh or tofu (meat substitute made of cooked soya beans).
- Eat a half Avocado everyday. Healthy as fuck (very nutritious).
- When cooking foods try to steam as much as possible. Some oils are healthy, but they are still loaded with a lot of calories.
- If you can't run, just walk. I basically lost all my weight... just by walking 15k-20k steps everyday. Everybody is talking about Hiit nowadays, but walking is very underrated.
- If you just want to be a lean muthafucka. Without getting too big. Just do bodyweight exercises at home, instead of weight lifting at the gym.
Also saves you some money!

Weight Lifting/Body Weight training + Walking/Running + Keto/IF.... Is the key folks. It sure ain't easy, but it will be worth it in the end!

Not really a fan of Teachingmensfashion. But i really like this short workout.

Try to do 2-3 sets... 3-4 times a week. And you def will see some results (if your diet is on point)

This sucks. Good drop. Dude put a commercial in the middle of the workout, brilliant, but wtf. I'll write it down. Thx.

up your protein intake. Your body has to expend energy to digest it. The protein in turn, helps you maintain muscle mass. The muscle mass, in turn, burns calories. (meaning, that the more muscle on your frame, the higher your metabolic rate)

Quick update.

Still doing IF. But i switched my diet a little bit, and i started to eat some more. At first i ate like 1200-1400 calories a day. Now i eat 1800-1900 calories a day. Also doing some more bodyweight exercises. So i decided to eat some more carbs.

Instead of greek yoghurts i eat oats. High in carbs, but healthy carbs. I also eat low carb bread with peanut butter and bannana.

Don't be afraid of carbs folks. If you hit a plateau, just adjust your diet a little bit. For so long I was scared of carbs, But healthy carbs will not make you fat. And let be honest. For the vast majority of people, keto is not sustainable. Yes you can do it for a few months maybe. But for a whole lifetime ?

You can't eat oats, bread and banana if you want to do keto. But listen closely: If you do keto for to long and you're protein intake is too low. You will also lose a lot of muscle mass. Yes Keto will make you lose weight FAST. But you still will have a lot belly fat, if you don't eat enough protein and don't do bodyweight training.

Now i'm doing body weights: Squats, Diamond Push Ups, Incline Push Ups, Pull Ups etc etc. You don't need the gym for a good workout.
Since i've started eating more. My abs are popping. my arms are getting bigger. It's like magic. Sometimes a little change can do a lot of good.

P.S. I'm not saying Keto is bad. I did it for months. And i lost weight FAST with it. But if you want to get big. And build some muscle, while losing weight. Than check your TDEE, subtract 500 calories from maintenance. And eat ALL those calories. Also start doing bodyweight exercises immediately. If you're close to your target weight. Don't do a lot of cardio (do bodyweight instead). But still incorporate some walking into your life.

Thank me later

Carbs aren't the enemy... i had to learn and adjust to that... more than anything it's about the types of carbs you eat

Brown rice vs white rice
Potatoes vs sweet potatoes
Whole wheat bread vs white bread
