It's the money. They were having the 13 a year for a while. They don't get paid for the ppvs by the cable companies for months for them so if you have one every month, that money is coming in steady. WCW started it actually and ECW first promised to only be quarterly and then they went monthly (for a hot second).
I'm not a big fan of TNA picking up more former WWE talent right now BUT Benjamin, James, and Burchill would be great additions to the X-Division and Knockout divisions. While she's nice to look at (thick body), Lacey Von Erich is hopeless and shouldn't be working for a national company. Bring in either or both of the now former Divas to replace her and bring in the other to replace Orlando Jordan.
Not surprised at the release of Jimmy Yang or Ray "Slam Master J" Gordy. Also good wrestlers that could fill out the X-Division or even ROH's roster.
Just thought about it, with Haas already released, maybe a reunion of the World's Greatest Tag Team is in the cards.

Damn, Shelton Benjamin was pound for pound the best in WWE. Big gain for TNA if he goes there. I admit that Shelton lacked charisma but his talent is undeniable. Shelton is gone yet there are marginally talented performers on the roster. Koslov!?! Triple H buried him months ago. The Colons!?! their dad(Carlos) was great but they have not been on nothing. Man I wish Triple H would get injured again and it's permanent.

They could always have Batista win and then have a huge pay per view rematch with him and Cena on his way out at Summerslam. As for Shelton Benjamin Charlie Haas said in an interview about a month ago that Shelton's deal was close to being up and he was encouraging Shelton not to resign.
The best job in the WWE is being HHH's workout partner. It got Batista into Evolution from being D-Von Dudley's collection plate holding lackey and helped turn Sheamus from FCW wrestler to WWE champion in a short amount of time.
Looks like Batista is done in WWE. He was pulled from the WWE movie he was booked in and that seemed to be the last straw and he's gone.
The draft was so one-sided they might as well have just taken Smackdown off the air. They took two main eventers in Jericho and Edge and two top mid carders in John Morrison and R-Truth and the top(only) tag team in the Hart Dynasty. In return Smackdown got Christian,MVP, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, and Chavo Guerrero. It's expected they'll put some talent on Smackdown after they move to ScyFy later this year. Michael Hayes work is cut out for him.

Until his 90 day no compete is up, I'll settle for him re-teaming with Charlie Haas and going to ROH. Putting them in the mix with the Briscoes and the Kings of Wrestling would be great, especially if we can get it to happen when they come to Charlotte again in August.

Hey Gang!!!
It's been a while since I've posted a blog. I'm more into the daily updates. But the following is too long for an update.
It appears that I'm winding down at TNA. Unfortunately some organizations "leak" information to wrestling websites to put their spin on a situation, to make sure they come out in the best light. Not me. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna put my name on it. And I'm going to stand behind it.
I came to TNA last year because I still had a lot of wrestling left in me. I was paid a fraction of what I thought I deserved. But I wanted to show I was still at the top of my game. Now my contract is up in May. I want a modest pay increase. They don't want to pay me what I think is fair. I have no problem going my own way.
But about 12 hours after the conversation where we didn't agree on pay, unnamed sources claim that I am hard to work with and that I don't give my best effort. My only response is that TNA made an aggressive effort to re-sign me, among other things saying that they want to build the women's division around me. And I think wrestling fans see, both on TV and at live events, that I always give 100%. I take pride in that. Smearing me on the way out the door is an act of second rate character.
I take pride in making my best effort to elevate my own wrestling and the entire TNA Women's Division. If people were rubbed the wrong way in the process, I stand behind my work and my positive intentions.
In closing I will say this. In the few weeks that I have left in TNA, I will be the same wrestler that you have seen for the past ten years. After that, I haven't decided if I will stay in wrestling, or finally make the jump to MMA. I do have a lot of irons in the fire. We'll see where life takes me. But wherever that is, there's gonna be competition, and I'm gonna give it my all.

my predictions, big show will get the title from Jack swagger and turn into a face again. Zeke and Shad needs to get a push big time because it seems smackdown is now ecw 2.0
Edge will get the belt from whomever at summerslam. Then a group will be formed consisting of edge, orton, and Jericho. Due to their egos, it won't last long.

Shame but the word has been around that she doesn't get on too well with several of the other Knockouts and she works stiff.
Now we'll get to see where they're going with the Knockouts division: will it be a women's division with good wrestling or a 2nd rate Divas division based on looks. They've lost their two best workers in the last two months (Kong and Tara) and have put the belt on Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne, decent workers at best but hot looking chicks.
Smackdown is ECW 2.0. Show is already a face and is challenging Swagger so you nailed that one. But I'm doubting the Zeke/Shad tag team. WWE hates tag teams and ignores Black wrestlers so a tag team of Black wrestlers has no future with them. Then Zeke's going to be out until the summer and they wouldn't want to hold Shad up that long.
Oh yeah, Zeke's going to Raw.
Looks like Jim Ross' days in WWE are coming to an end. His contract runs out this weekend and it doesn't look like they're going to make it happen.
Not saying he's going to TNA but they could use him and not just as an announcer (a three man desk with him, Tenay, and Taz would be perfect with Ross as lead, Taz as color and Tenay as an analyst) but they could use a person with deep wrestling knowledge and experience who knows bullshit when he sees it, in front of the camera and behind.

Naaaah. You're forgetting some greats like Monsoon, Jesse and Piper.
I prefer NWA Ross and pre Bells' palsy Ross before he turned into the cartoon character and just yelled shit and half-assed it unless it was a mainevent.
Full heel Jerry was great up until Stacy Carter came into the WWF.
Ross, Heenan, Monsoon and heel Lawler were the best.
