Its the SILENCE

the physical facial acting that this show does that is TOP NOTCH

show out editing and directors and actors

Did yo use Kristen's husband face AFTER he finished writing his note?

I was watching it but I'll have to rewatch. I admit, y'all catch some things quicker than I do. The husband's expression made me think he had a bomb of a secret too. I easily thought it was that he had an affair as well but dismissed that as an assumption. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm even more curious b/c we don't know what he wrote. Whatever he did write, he was look uncomfortable and was quick to say "we will never speak of this again."

Right! That was random and not needed. He called his wife to say that a delusional patient accused him of sleeping w/ his patients mother? Nope, doesn't make sense.

HOWEVER he could maybe do that.

Remember they are actually FRIENDS they KNOW each other.

A husband could/would be like honey? you this b*tch just bugging out on me!

(I don't ACTUALLY believe it but I had to take a minute and remember how many times I called wifey about some dumb sh*t that JUST happened in the office)

there are ALL this extra beats that the editors add to scenes to make EVERYTHING extra suspicious and ominous

When the new Satan church accused Kristen, that scene could have been off cause the audience KNOWS the "truth" but it was the eyes of every actor in that scene that REALLY sold it.

... What if this is all David's vision from the last episode on some Billy waking up and that entire season of Dallas was all just a dream!!!!

Like I know it's not, but what if it is? Just a big SIKE!!! To everyone watching.

Yeah, I TRY to watch while I am "working" and miss certain cues from the actors when my punk ass customers and or coworkers take my attention. I rewatch it too.

Ben makes the most sense as the person to be asking about. Old boy came home to hear his daughters screaming out Amazing Ben. If it were me, I’d have to meet the guy at the very least.

I thought about his fixation on David and wondered if it was related to the shows subtle/not subtle nods to seemingly good white folks having deep underlying discomfort with Black people.

I just finished watching the latest episode and I feel like @playahaitian you LOVED this past episode.

The conversation about Demonic warfar between David and the brother who was a minister was true on both sides. That was a legit, pick your poison discussion. DAMN, there was no wrong response to all questions asked. I would've loved to have sat there in the room just watching that.

In the time frame of the show, I feel like this week for David was symbolic of Christ wondering the desert and battling temptation (there may be better biblical stories that better align but that's the best I can think of based on my biblical knowledge).

Netflix
“If this is what being canceled is about, I love it,” said Dave Chappelle tonight to a cheering and sold-out Hollywood Bowl crowd after a screening of his documentary about the comic summer camp he put on last year in his Ohio hometown.
“I don’t know what to tell you, except I’m a bad motherf*cker,” the suited and sneakered Mark Twain Prize winner added to big laughs from the crowd.
While “cancel culture” took a bruising in a number of comments from Chappelle and others in what was a clear victory lap for the comedian on Thursday, the celebrating man himself was not in a mood to really get in a brawl with anyone — critics or otherwise.

“This is the kindness conspiracy,” Chappelle told the more than 18,000-strong audience.

RELATED STORY
'Dear White People' EP 'Done' With Netflix Over Dave Chappelle's New 'Transphobic' Special; Comic Lambasted By GLAAD For 'Ridiculing' Trans & LGBTQ+ Communities

Taking aim at corporations and the government in some very, very brief remarks, the man raised by an academic activist also told his City of Angels fans that part of the street-level solution to what he sees ailing America is “we have to trust one another.” Although it must be acknowledged, Chappelle did add at one point, almost as an aside, while pacing the mammoth stage: “F*ck Twitter, this is real life” — which got a big roar from the social media cut-off crowd.
Still, with on-stage cameos by the legendary Stevie Wonder (who told the cheering crowd that “we need to cancel hate!”), Nas, a Journey-singing Jon Hamm (long story), Thunderbolt, Jeff Ross (who dropped the priceless line: “Detroit, Canada’s Tijuana”), Talib Kweli, DJ Jazzy Jeff, the iconic Snoop Dogg, Lizzo, and the poet Amir Sulaiman, the screening of the film called The Get Up in the title credits was a love-in by any standard – both on and off stage. On a night when almost everyone had their phones sealed up in magnetic pouches (paid for by Chappelle), the majority danced to some of hip hop’s finest, and a ton of fireworks in the sky around the Tinseltown venue ended the night with a literal bang.
Tonight’s screening and performance comes a day after an outcry from GLAAD and other civil rights groups over Chappelle’s acrid remarks about the trans and LGBTQ+ communities in his latest Netflix special The Closer. Former Dear White People showrunner Jaclyn Moore, who transitioned during the pandemic, took to Twitter to say she was “done” with Netflix “as long as they continue to put out and profit from blatantly and dangerously transphobic content.”

The streamer itself and Chappelle’s reps have been silent, but National Black Justice Coalition’s executive director David Johns proclaimed that Netflix should be done with The Closer. “Netflix should immediately pull The Closer from its platform and directly apologize to the transgender community,” he said in a statement Wednesday.
Terming himself “Team TERF!” (the acronym for trans-exclusionary radical feminist) in reference to J.K. Rowling’s social media posts of last year about the transgender community, Chappelle spends most of the last third of his sixth — and perhaps final for a while — special on the streamer taking one swipe after another at the aforementioned communities.
Although Chappelle talks emotionally about his friendship with now-deceased transgender comedian Daphne Dorman, much of the performance is centered on “trans women” genitalia and the apparent rights one oppressed group in America has gained over another. “In our country, you can shoot and kill a [n-word], but you better not hurt a gay person’s feelings,” the comedian says, in reference to a 2018 incident involving rapper DaBaby — whom Chappelle defends at some length in the special — at a Walmart in North Carolina that saw another man shot to death.
“I am not telling another joke about you until we are both sure that we are laughing together,” Chappelle says right near the end of The Closer in a personal address to the trans and LBGTQ+ communities. “All I ask from your community – with all humility – will you please stop punching down on my people?” he adds.
In fact, the only time the controversy of the past few days was in the spotlight tonight was when Jeff Rose roasted an attendee that he looked like he was there to “protest” over “Dave’s trans jokes.” A remark that seemed to evaporate as soon as it was said in front of Chappelle fans on Thursday
Requiring proof of Covid vaccination or a recent negative test for the virus, Thursday’s screening and show in L.A. was reminiscent of the world premiere of what was then called Dave Chappelle: This Time This Place at Radio City Music Hall back in June. Closing out the Tribeca Festival, the film of Chappelle’s 2020 summer shows near his home in Ohio (full of famous friends including Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and more than a few people who were on stage at the Bowl tonight) is directed by Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar, the Oscar-winning duo who helmed American Factory for Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground productions.
As of Thursday, The Closer was still very much on Netflix. The Stan Lathan-directed special ranks No. 4 domestically in the Ted Sarandos- and Reed Hastings-run streamer’s Top 10 — that’s up a notch from Wednesday.

I mean there IS a wrong side, when you're talking about your SOUL!

I don't come on BGOL to wax poetic on religion, but I think here in the context of THIS show it is justified.

Yes the other side has valid points no denying, but your soul is eternal you can't compare the two. And that is what the nun is talking about, if you believe in absolute good then there must be absolute evil and absolute evil (in this universe) would have its religious leaders (specifically David) focus on social issues. There should be people to fight those fights, but you wouldn't use a "gun" like David for them. He isn't built for that.

I like what you wrote and for a minute thought the same argument but I feel like evil is alive through social injustice. People are legit, killed, tortured, tormented, shunned, and thought crazy JUST because they want to exercise what we in the United States call inalienable rights.

That being said, there is no doubt that the David with the backing of the Catholic Church would be a far greater weapon directly against the source of evils. Furthermore, as far as we know, while in the Catholic Church, he has been closer to the source of God than most of the ordained priest in the show. That in of itself should be clue one as to where he is needed.

Watching the final now.

Ben is damn near the God Dad of Kristin’s kids.

Those sexual visions David us having…DAMN!

Honestly, I’ve had some good ass times talking with and hanging out with Catholic priests. Known a couple of cool ass fryers and munks. Haven’t really spent any time with nuns. I could easily see clergy at a house party.

Still watching the episode but I have a question about a possible plot hole. With the passing down of house successors, is Davids father (the artist) a successor or really did co-op the stigel (sp) or

Oh shit. That’s a cliffhanger.

Definitely pushing the envelope of what is allowed on the CBS streaming service with those visions David was having.

I was hoping that David and Kristen would NEVER give in to that sexual tension that they had.

David having to lay on his stomach for an extra minute to hide the raging hard on he was getting! Why is it people with sexual "problems" go into priesthood?

I was trying my best to stay vague and unbiased because I know the majority of bgol brothers are not into formalized religion.

Nah man, I am unapologetic with my religious experience. But that is just it, it is MY religious experience. I don't come down on anybody that has a different religion or lack there of. If it come up I talk about it in the context of the conversation but that is it, so I tried to keep it strictly in their universe and not in reality.
