whats the key word in the thread title??Niggas in this thread must be hitting the pipe... Smh lol! It's been a while since I've heard so much blasphemy. Tupac overrated....
this sounds personal.....what he do....fuck your girl????LL Cool J is wack... typical New York false bravado (with unbelievable aggression). Granted I am from the West Coast; so maybe I just don't get it/him. I have one LL Cool J cut, and it's an instrumental.
Note: I'm not insulting New York. Biggie is my favorite rapper ever.
P.S.
On "Flava In Ya Ear" his verse was corny.
2Pac fucking sucked.
Man. I think you know nothing about music.ahem......
that drunken style was

really....let a female rapper do his drunken style....how well would that go over???Man. I think you know nothing about music.
ODB isn't the best rapper but he is not like Missy.
Nothing personal at all... He's just one of those rappers that just didn't seem genuine to me. It seems like he's trying hard to be hard.this sounds personal.....what he do....fuck your girl????
For storytelling, I'd go Ice Cube and Biggie. These were very vivid storytellers to me.I’ve always thought Lil Wayne was wack. For some reason he just never did it for me.
Other than Scarface, Will Smith is the greatest story-teller whoever did it.
It doesn’t sit well with me that Ms. Melodie doesn’t get the credit she deserves.
Kid Capri isn’t as good as he thinks he is. DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Cash Money, and Scram Jones can run rings around him on the turn tables.
Lyrically, Ghostface is heads and shoulders above everyone else in the Wu-Tang Clan.
Bruh I'm not a big Jay-Z fan but I'm not gonna say he's overrated though.. Lolwhats the key word in the thread title??
when he wasn't name checking apparel brands, likkers and guns and car models.....c'mon homie most of biggies raps was just rhyme listing shit. and thats when he wasn't talking about drug dealing, misogynic shit or committing violence on someone..Just because Biggie ain't record Brenda's having a baby and dear momma doesn't mean he wasn't equally introspective heartfelt vulnerable in his music.
LOL, But the title read:Mark is that you?? Topic said unpopular opinions about RAPPERS not bring up Mark Walhberg's film career. Da fuq??!!??

Yeah some are taking it a bit too far boarded lining on extreme.
There's a fine line saying some is overrated in general or overrated because you don't particularly like it.
Most in this thread don't particularly like or get a particular artist so they think that the artist is overrated.
If millions of people like something and you don't, it's probably not the something that's wack.
for the record...DEBBIE HARRY had a hit song where she rapped..
according to that logic.....she's a rapper....anyone agree with that????

He was good beoe he got on death row then his quality dropped because at that point all he did was rhyme " Hennessy"and "enemies " a thousand times over. This thread is overrated promoting the slander of Tupac being overrated.....
Nope and nope and nope.........more Nope than Jordan Peele....He was good beoe he got on death row then his quality dropped because at that point all he did was rhyme " Hennessy"and "enemies " a thousand times over.
Fair point.LOL, But the title read:
What unpopular opinions do you have? Hip-Hop/Rap edition
I was not aware that I was limited to only voice opinions about music, of course we can ask the author of the thread?
Nope and nope and nope.........more Nope than Jordan Peele....
"Shell of his former self"..... You are Michael Jordan of Bad Takes......more bad takes than Skip BaylessEither way death row Tupac was a sellout and a shell of his former self.
That is actually a very popular opinionFabolous is a good rapper. But doesn't have any classic albums.
Will smith a better story teller than Nas or Ghostface???I’ve always thought Lil Wayne was wack. For some reason he just never did it for me.

What's crazy is he has like 3-6 arguably classic mixtapes but not a single classic album in his catalog. Heck he's had 2 classic mixtape series but hasn't made single studio album that was more than passable.Fabolous is a good rapper. But doesn't have any classic albums.
I see your point, but I kind of disagree.
Lauryn Hill is hardly the first rapper to have way too many kids and a bunch of relationship dramas. It certainly didn't put the brakes on DMX or Mos Def.
She's also not the first person to be accused of using ghostwriters or committing copyright infringement. Everybody gets accused of that when they sell 10 million records.
IMO her biggest problem was that musically she couldn't get out of her own way. Whether or not she wrote all of her own lyrics she certainly had a lot of guidance on Miseducation. Afterwards the label gave her free rein to do whatever she wanted on the next project and she used that freedom poorly. She neglected the people and systems that made her successful on the last one.
The other issue is that she didn't like being a mega star. She wanted to be able to wake up at noon and go to the local Bodega in some sweatpants and flip-flops without paparazzi jumping out of the bushes. Or be able to go to the club and get drunk like a normal person without the press calling her self destructive.
Because even with all of her failings she could have easily made a career for herself as a guest vocalist. Busta rhymes has been doing that for 20 years. No reason she couldn't.
Besides Will Smith (television & film), and L.L. Cool J (television & film) has any rapper had a more successful career in film than Mark Walhberg (Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch)?
