- The NCAA business model has some comparisons to sharecropping and undocumented labor that's used by US corporations
- Older black folks did and do kids a disservice by telling them things like "money isn't important" and "money is the root of all evil"
- Along the same lines as what's stated above, your average heavy industry (steel, auto) civil service or public service elder, with their modest home (paid for though usually which is good), steady pension, social security check and sometimes benefits from a deceased spousal, live fairly comfortably in retirement and have NO clue that Gen X'ers and millennials a) rarely have a pension plan they can depend on, b) if they have them, many pensions plans are WAY underfunded and about to hit a cliff, c) the public sector and industry jobs that created and sustained the black middle class for 65-70 have eroded or are eroding and d) what you kill is what you eat and picking a major and going $50k in the hole for it to come out of school making $30k with no extra to put aside for retirement is not a winning plan
- Many black kids would be better served by going to the military after HS instead of going to college, majoring in humanities (because they want to "give back") and going in long-term debt to not make a starting salary that 1/2 of what they owe
- The internet has desensitized most people
- GoFundMe is a hustle and many folks have lost all dignity and personal ownership and responsibility in the era of putting up a GFM page
- The Facebook 'status' field is the game changing invention/addition of the 21st century so far; it basically was the beginning of creating a generation of attention whores who feel the need to post up their every thought, every move, every action.....and those of everyone around them......
- The 2nd game changing invention/addition is the 'Like' button; Likes are like crack to social media attention junkies.
- The BGOL of roughly 2012-present (no FTPs, no outages), maybe since 2011, is the best era of the board as far as content, information, knowledge, discussion and porn, since the Board started in the late-90's

Having "friends" is over rated. Discretely teaches/forces you to be a group thinker and just go along with the crowd to maintain your ficticious social standing. Being invited by a group of people to "hang out" feels more like an invitation to assimilate and be part of the collective. It's a better situation to develop your own thoughts and ideas and live your life how u want as opposed to how your social crowd dictates by following pre-defined norms

The reason white people rule the world is they are well versed in warfare. The Anglo and the Saxons vs The Jutes, the Germanic, The Vikings. The Norman conquest, the French, the British, the Scots etc etc.
When you study European history you'll see why they are in power today. All the fighting among themselves conquering each other back and forth made them more resilient people. They had to stay on their toes or else be conquered by other European tribes. They were always in fighting back mode, trying to think one step ahead of their adversary or be wiped out.
So when they encountered different people who were less advanced at warfare it was easy for them to take control of them and exploit their resources because they were inexperienced compared to most Europeans. White people weren't smarter by virtue of being white they were nurtured to be more aggressive toward the world around them by fighting among each other.
You are half right when you say they are playing chess not checkers. Chess has rules. Seeking power or the upper hand has been the attitude passed down to them for centuries. Take the advantage anyway you can with whatever resources available and cheat has always been the game.
We call it self-hate when we fight among ourselves because we realize our powerless position in the world (in America) and fear being wiped out and try to hold on to what we got for fear of losing it all. That and we are under much more scrutiny. Black people in America are still a very young people a young nation in the scope of history, contending against centuries of experience. No doubt living among white people we have benefited from their experience as well but we have a long way to go.
I think black people have lost their fighting spirit but we are well experienced at coping methods. I thinks it's why we take to the arts and are so expressive and emotional people. The arts, creativity, music, theater, dance, drugs, talking, storytelling, etc it's why we trip out when we hear white folks kill themselves over things that are minor to us.
Just like iron sharpens iron so will adversity. Through fighting the best of us rises to the top.

The only thing I disagree with is that SuperUgly is better. IMO Jay made a tactical error by being so hasty in his response. He should have taken a longer time tpo craft a better song. I do think Takeover and Blueprint 2 were better disses when it comes to facts though. Nas took a year to respond and basically just called him gay,ugly, and on his dick.
Ideally, that's a true statement when the laws and law enforcement protocol is applied neutrally / equally in the US. In reality, that is often not the case.
