Do what best works for you. And it's not necessarily "not eating," it's more timing and limiting WHEN you eat...Got a lot to read through. Was thinking of trying this. Is this a 7 days a week thing? Was thinking of trying it for 4 days a week. Easier to not eat on work days.
Gotcha. Definitely have a plan after going through this thread. Thanks.Do what best works for you. And it's not necessarily "not eating," it's more timing and limiting WHEN you eat...

i'm at my goal weight, so I'm not trying to get too far off from there. The only day I don't fast is Saturday. Once your body gets adjusted, it's easy.
I work at night, so my schedule may be different than yours. But here's mine:By any chance, do any of you have your exact schedule for a typical day/week?
OMAD is a common practice among people that do intermittent fasting.Years ago BGOL had s long " 1 meal a day " thread.
This shit works, you just gotta find what works for you, get in that groove, and give it time.

210-215lbs is good for me.
Now I'm way more lenient with eating. I just don't overdo it. Plus, eating healthy has come so far compared to the days of rice cakes and unseasoned chicken breasts... You can get some REALLY good food and it's still very healthy.

I do the 20/4 fast, fasting from midnight to 8pm, Monday thru Friday.
I work from 9am to 6pm.
I bring 8-9 16oz bottles of water to work, drink one every hour. Equals more than a gallon.
At 7pm, I start cooking my one big meal: baked breaded chicken breast nuggets served with a sugar free BBQ sauce. Baked sweet potato with cinnamon, pure maple syrup and coconut oil. Cook broccoli, spinach and lima beans together in a steamer, garlic salt to taste. Allows me to get all my macros, while maintaining a calorie deficit.
While that's cooking, I get a full body fasted workout in right before I break my fast at 8pm. Have another water.
Eat my meal in one or two sittings, have a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar & Black Seed Oil. Take a Multivitamin w/ Fish Oil. Might have a Sparkling Ice or a Whey Protein Almond Milk Shake if I need something sweet.
Eating window closes at midnight.
Melts the pounds, works with my schedule.
I do 16-8 fasts on the weekends with my cheat meals to sort of soften the impact of whatever bullshit I decide to eat.
I heard Terry Crews talk about this. I'll anything to lose the stubborn belly fat. lol. My new job got me stuck downtown and working like crazy so some days I don't eat till noon anyway. Might as well do this.
The rock does Intermittent fasting as well, but keep in mind these guys hit the gym 5 days a week so fasting alone is not some magic cure all.I heard Terry Crews talk about this. Yeah, if you're going to do it, make sure you do it right. Go all the way with it. Diet and workout are still important.
Don't be like me last year, call myself trying to do a 16-8, slacking on the workouts, not drinking enough water, not getting all the nutrients I need, then sit around eating chocolate at the end of the day wondering why I've plateaued on my weight loss.
I must've watched like 20-30 videos about IF and came to the conclusion that I needed to throw my whole diet away and my habits and start from scratch. I got the MyFitnessPal app, calculated what nutrients I need "this much Vitamin A, this much Potassium, this much protein, this much fats, this much carbs etc." figured what foods gave me what nutrients and built a meal around that. Then I had to find some workouts I could do at home because I could never get myself to the gym.
And then I finally put it all together, and I started getting results. Once you got the blueprint, and the routine, it's just consistency after that point.

So can you do a smoothie in the am? Or does that throw everything off? I thought I started today but I realized more normal routine is to make a fresh fruit smoothie.....
Ironically I only had one meal after that and now want to make a green juice to end the night...
I don't need to lose lot of weight just the bread basket. Great thread by the way, glad to see brothers taking care of themselves.
I been drinking like a 160 ounces of water a day and do low carbs at least 4 days a week. I'm getting chiseled up, everyone asking me what the fuck an I doing i workout hard though also
I find this intermittent fasting not only working but far less restrictive than dieting.
Simply eating cleaner and shifting the hours has brought the lbs down.
10 pages and counting. Respect.
and back to the workouts thing.
its all about discipline. when i work out its all about getting it in. its just what we have to do.
when i am out there on the road running i am just thinking to myself i am doing this to be better not because its fun.
if you want to be better you have to stay disciplined and realize that this is not about what you want to do its about what you have to do.
BasicallySmoothie breaks your fast.
The point is to not consume ANY calories for a whole window of time.
I’ve seen this. What did the water taste like ? Was it salty (not like sea water) ?
Question about the no calorie thing. I drink those flavored sparkling waters that have zero calories. A guy i works with says i cant even do that. Is that true?Smoothie breaks your fast.
