Within your window...how many meals do you eat?

I break the fast with a whey protein shake and some sunflower seeds. Usually eat another meal before 8:30 pm. Then right before 10 pm I drink a green fat burner.

My fat burner recipe:

1 cucumber
1 lemon
cilantro/parsley(about a few pieces each)
1 tsp of ground ginger
1/8 tsp of tumeric
1/8 tsp of pepper
1 tbsp of ACV
1 tbsp of MCT oil
1 tbsp of aloe vera juice
1 cup of water

Blend and then force it down. You mostly taste the lemon and cucumber. Not an easy drink going down but it burns lbs. while you sleep.

Whole lemon including the skin?

I've been doing this for about 3 weeks. I've only shed a few pounds but most of all I just feel much much better. I had been suffering from IBS and this has settled it down alot. My window is from 12 to 8 and to be honest, I really don't feel hunger until close to 12. I drink a full glass of water when I first get up and sip more until my window.

I just gotta work on the foods I eat. At first, I would damn near pig out at the start of my window. I've learned to make that first meal light and it still holds me for hours... no seconds on my last meal and I feel so much better.

Some have posted about mixing the two, and I've seen on Facebook groups people doing it, but I'm no big fan of keto. I incorporate some of their meals into my diet from time to time, but that shit just don't seem healthy to me

Ok, cool, because I was thinking about looking into it, but then I remembered I tried to go no carbs/low carbs last year when I was doing 16-8 and I had ZERO energy.

By the time I got off work at 6, I was ready to pass out. Working out after work was not happening.

I lost some weight at first, but then it just stopped. Then as soon as I started eating carbs again, the weight came right back.

Yeah that keto shit ain't worth it... Not unless you just a morbidly obese cat that need to lose weight but can't exercise...

Because with this way of eating and anything even resembling a workout you'll lose weight fast

"This is about the drastic physiological differences between fasting and eating less"

"Just in case I should also say that of course, you need to balance fasting with eating - You need to survive off of something. I have been doing intermittent fasting the past year (22 hours fasted, 2 hours eating - you can widen it to 16/8, which still provides great benefits) and will fast for a couple days every other month or so. Several other people have recommended a routine like this - Tim Ferriss recommends doing a 3 day fast once per month and a 7 day fast once per year."

I like this approach it's easy to maintain when it comes to fasting.

1) Fast 1 day a week

2) Beginning of every month fast for 3 days

3) Every 3 months fast for 7 to 10 days

Good post. I have done it in the past. Was always concerned it ended up slowing my metabolism, but I do believe in it. Fasting is very important and glad I saw this post. A reminder that I need to go back to it.

Quick question - How do you coffee drinkers handle that doing intermittent fasting. I know you are not to consume anything outside of the 8 hour period, but I have read that consuming less than 50 calories doesn't break your fast. Thoughts????

I drank coffee and still cut weight. The key is, no sugar, no cream, or anything else in the coffee.

This has given nice results always. I did this in college all of the time without knowing the concepts name. Men's Health magazine circa 1994 thru 1999 is what push me to my physical peak at the time. Intermittent fasting is the shit!!

I'm doing 5 days of fasting and 2 days off, upped my cardio for the summer

Yeah I'm doing 5 days on during the week (12-8 eating window) & a hyrbid on the weekends (10/11am-8pm) when my kids are home. It works with my schedule. Loving it so far. I'm not really trying to lose a lot of weight (I only weigh 178ish) but I want to get cut-up and so far it's helping. Seeing results already.

What kind of workouts are you doing

Weight training 4-5x a week mixed in with some cardio, mostly cycling (outdoor & stationary bike). For my weight training I try to keep my heart-rate above 110 by jumping rope in between sets. If the gym isn't too packed I'll do intervals and rotate 2-3 exercises.
