The power of intermittent fasting

Does anybody else find that cheat days actually help you break plateaus?

Like I used to space my cheat days out, going weeks without cheating, only to find that I had stopped losing weight.

Then I had a day or two of eating whatever I want, when I wanted, and then found that I broke that plateau I was at.

Like I think you need a cheat day to throw your body off from all the healthy shit, like confuse it.

I just saw a video on Facebook yesterday that was saying that exact thing. The guy is a bodybuilder and says he has appeared on over 30 magazine covers. He said exactly what you said that you need to take a day to eat whatever you want, (pizza, burgers, fries). During the week i’m strictly veggies, lean meat, salads, etc..but on the weekend i’ve been eating Chinese food, at first I felt guilty like I was ruining my work for the week but then i’d notice on Monday’s it would feel and look like it helped me

This couple broke it down and said it depends on the TYPE of person you are. Some people can eat a cheat meal and then get back on track the next day but some people eat one cheat meal and then it turns in to two, three and then four cheat meals

Yeah, it's the discipline to not let it get out of hand.

Cheat, get what you gotta have so you can get it out of your system, and then go right back to your diet plan.

And I think it's better to plan it than to cheat on impulse.

Love this thread. Trying to get down to under 200lbs. I am at 228 right now. Always been a big fan of IM, but of course got side tracked and now I am trying to incorporate exercise. So I started walking on the standing desk treadmills at work 3 days a week in the mornings for about 45 minutes and this week I been doing the walking and a total body workout everyday this week after work. I do walk to work living in DC so walking is a big part of my daily routine.
I do have a few questions though

#1 Diet - I am not a vegan, but I don't eat alot of meat. Most of my protein comes from BCAAs and a vegan protein powder. I do eat fish or salmon (wild caught of course) a few times a week. What are other good food options?

#2 Fat burners - can anyone recommend a good fat burner to take to accelerate the process? I know this is not good to take, but just curious if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks!

I do the 16:8 method and would eat 2 meals and 2 snacks, the snacks consisting of strawberries and a individual serving of peanut butter. I never thought anything about the snacks but just watched this vid and he’s saying cut the snacking out and just eat the meals. My 2 meals aren’t over 400 calories a piece so he was saying just add the snacks into the meal and only eat during the 2 meals

I can fast for one day tops then that's it, I got my gallbladder removed and the gas is too much. I'm 198 and 5'11 and I'm about25% bf so I need to lose the gut.

I do alot of 16:8 and work out... alot of sauna too to sweat.

How long ago was the gallbladder removal, and how extensive was the recovery process?

You have to watch what you are eating.
Write down everything you eat and drink.
You have got to be having some heavy sauces that are adding to your caloric intake.
Like, 1 less ketchup packet on that burger or 1/2 the amount of bbq sauce you usually use can save you some calories and you can still enjoy the meal...
Got to star paying attention.

Also more cardio. More water too.

Stuck at 235 lbs for a few weeks. Any recommendations?

When I did intermittent fasting
I found it easy To go over my calories
I actually put on weight with it

Within a year on 16:8 I put on 20lbs

I switched to OMAD
And the weight has been dropping off

I use the If app on the phone
And it’s so much easier
I eat my one meal around 5 and nothing till the next day
Easier on me
And energy levels are great
